OK.. hear me out..
So Hephaestus is the greek god craftsmanship and volcanos- yada yada all the good stuff.
He often would be working tirelessly in his Forge, wielding away, probably making swords for Ares⚔️, spears for Athena🦉, bows for Artemis🦌, wine glasses for Dionysus🍇, idk something shiny for Hermes🪽? and Mirrors for Aphrodite🪞.
He rarely ever made things for himself, (most artists don’t really like their personal works unless it’s for someone else.) but today it was especially hot with all the furnaces burning and the smell of molten steel was getting to him.
He decided to take a break and step outside, but only for a moment, “discipline is a privilege only some can uphold.” Ares would say. As he went to find his walking crutches he noticed that one was missing?
⚒️“Hermes?” He called out “I don’t have time for your tricks!”⚒️
Only to be met with silence.. and a small, comforting gust of…wind?
🌬️“Ahahaha!”🌬️
A sweet voice met his sound-damaged ears.
🌬️ “Do you need this?” The voice said with a hint of mischief, but with no intent of keeping the crutch.🌬️
⚒️“I am in no mood to chase, and hardly could I even try!” He limped back to his work bench.⚒️
🌬️“Fine! Alright! Here..” the woman of the winds set down his crutch by his bench before revealing her form.🌬️
⚒️“Aeolus. Why must you test me today?” Hephaestus spoke with annoyance and confusion.⚒️
🌬️“I want to help, if you’ll let me!”🌬️
⚒️“And what is your ‘game’ this time?”⚒️
She lowered herself to the ground, sweeping around the soot.
🌬️“No game! Just pure boredom!” *She whistled as she messed with his things*🌬️
⚒️“Fine. Do what you want, just don’t move anything..”⚒️
So the two set to work.. well Hephaestus abandoned his break and went back to crafting. Aeolus was drifting around creating a small breeze, cooling the forge. They both sat in complete silence, barely even sighing as they worked.
Later Aeolus, like always got bored and quickly vanished, leaving Hephaestus alone in his Forge again. But now.. at the entrance of his forge, there’s a small metal wind chime decorated with even smaller sea shells.. 🐚 ….which of course Hermes plays with the every time he feels the need to piss Hephaestus off.
