What do I do?

What can I say?

Why do I feel

Like I need you to stay?

I love you, my friend. 

I really do. 

But I’m a mess. 

I think I need you. 

Nobody’s perfect, 

We all need help. 

But I need to help myself

Before I can help anyone else. 

So I’ll keep writing, 

and singing, and breathing

So that I can be okay

When my friends are leaving. 

This world we’re in, 

The rollercoasters we ride, 

It’s hard to know

What not to hide. 

But when I’m with you, 

I can be myself. 

I can be me. I can be free. 

I can take care of my health. 

Even without you, I’ll be just fine. 

I’m practicing self-care. It’s taking some time. 

But you’ll be fine, and I’ll be good. 

I’ll move on. I’ll survive. I won’t say “what could”.

I’m thinking about Nemo. Just keep swimming, keep swimming. 

My anxieties creep in as the lights are dimming. 

I won’t let my insecurities hurt the people I care for. 

I’ll take care of myself, exercise till I’m sore. 

I’ll create a poem, maybe add some uke. 

If it doesn’t sound great, it’s okay. Not a fluke. 

These poems are me, who I am is myself. 

Today was a good day

I cleaned up the house

The mess is gone

There’s no place left for a mouse

I exercised some meditation

I read the Tao Te Ching

Performed some love and relaxation

I find my uke and songs to sing

I applied to some jobs

In the restaurant field

Not particularly picky, 

But I hope to get shift meals. 

The baby’s taken care of, 

The wife and I are happy, 

We’re feeling better rested

Cause we took a little nappy. 

I played my favorite game, 

I saw an old friend. 

I asked Krishna for some help

So that my progress doesn’t end. 

Cementing the day
