A hobby Eva had seriously neglected was archery. It felt like a lost cause over the past few years, but it was so nice out lately. Her bow had been calling her name and her choices were sell it or try and pick it up again. So pick it up again she did. Picking a time when Silver Lake Meadows was empty was tricky, but eventually the park cleared out. She and Trevor had gone to the sporting good store to get her some new targets to practice with. It took a moment figuring out where to put them but soon she was ready. She placed the arrow and pulled back. Her hands weren’t as shaky, vision had drastically improved since the last time she attempted this. Feeling a bit of confidence, Eva let the bow go, while it wasn’t a bullseye, it was still close enough to the middle. It was silly to keep any sort of point system as she was by herself, but she had a little notebook to keep score. She scribbled down a seven then picked up another arrow.
As luck would have it, Nicole had a week off work, and had looked forward to it for ages. But by mid-week she was already bored and missed being in 24/7 Fitness, her usual nightly gym sessions after work swapped for just...hanging around in her apartment (and being half-driven crazy by Chris and Becky). Instead of putting up with that for one more afternoon, she grabbed her jogging Nikes and decided for a run around Silverlake. Her footsteps took her towards the meadows before she’d even realised it. Technically it was her fault she strayed from the track to jog across the field, but she was caught up in her music, her airpods cancelling out all extraneous noise, the blonde in a zone. It’s just two feet before her that she watches an arrow whiz by right in front of her, an arrow that could’ve easily (probably?) speared her like a suckling pig if she’d been two seconds faster with her jogging. “Hey!” she says, stopping in place, pulling her airpods out. “You be careful with that! Jesus! Could take someone’s eye out!”
