Boba Fett’s ship is not named Slave I on this blog. Because yeah that’s not a great name, and also honestly that name stopped making sense canonically as soon as AOTC retconned the ship’s original owner to be Jango instead, and we got his backstory of being shipped into slavery after Galidraan. Why would Jango want a constant reminder of one of the worst times of his life clawing at him like vibroblades every time he boards his ship or docks at a spaceport?
All right, I hear you ask (because apparently I’m pretending that I’m speaking to an audience of mando’ade curious to learn more about their weird new Mandalore; I’m Goran Beviin now I guess), so then what will we name this ship that has the same cold, unattached sense of disposability as Slave I through Slave IV did? Well, Firespray I is an option I suppose, and does have the merit of sounding cool, and being straightforward and obvious…
That’s good, but I think we can do better. Because there’s still a little too much individuality there. Choosing the name of a specific type of ship only works if you’re planning on sticking to only flying the same sort of ship in the future, and I don’t think Fett had any such intention. I think he’s too pragmatic, too much of a practical man. We need a name that will work for the next ship, too; after all, that’s why it ends with a numeral. Because this ship is disposable, and Fett expects that there will be a II someday. We need to be a little more generic.
So, then: disposable, generic, detached. What name to choose?
Ship I.

Attisgalli Corrective Draughts:
Various spells and potions have been used to adjust a wix’s physical form for centuries (most famously the Iphisinstaurabo spell, still taught today in upper level Transfiguration classes for its elegant craftsmanship and historical merit despite the impracticality of its brief duration). Without question however, the most widely-used gender reassignment potion is the Attisgalli Corrective Draught – or to be more correct, draughts, because there are two distinct variations of this brew: one which alters the physical biology of those presumed male who are at heart female, and one which does the same for the corresponding situation.
The differences in recipe between these two variations are minor but crucial, and thus both variants are sold and prescribed under the same name with a simple notation indicating whether it is to be used by male or female-identifying subjects.
Both variants of the Attisgalli Corrective Draught are furthermore brewed in two distinct doses: the first is a weaker dose which must be taken regularly on a weekly or bi-monthly basis and which, over time, spurs a gradually-increasing psychical alteration in the subject in a process that in many ways mirrors the natural puberty that it often substitutes for. Colloquially referred to as the “Children’s Corrective Dose,” this potion is widely used by children and adolescents who are not comfortable with the gender their birth assigned them and who wish to adjust their bodies to better match the societal standards of the other of the two most common genders.
The second dose is a stronger, most lasting brew which is taken on gradually-increasing intervals starting at twice-yearly doses and building up to maintenance doses taken every five to seven years. This potion is colloquially referred to as either the “Adult’s Corrective Dose” or the “Permanent Corrective Dose,” but neither term is accurate; the potion is not permanent, and should furthermore only be imbibed by those who have previously completed a regular regimen of the weaker dose regardless of their age.
Taking the second, stronger dose without first acclimatizing the body through regular use of the weaker dose (mediwix recommend at least three years, although five is preferred) risk putting oneself under dangerous, potentially fatal strain as the intensity of the changes all at once is considerable. A body that has been acclimatized to the lower dose for several years and then temporarily deprived of the potion (as is often done for procreative purposes) is more adaptable and can transition to the stronger dose after a brief period of re-acclimatization, but all such dosage adjustments should be monitored by trained mediwix and potioneers.
There are occasional mild side-effects, more commonly experienced by those on the lower dose than by those taking the longer-lasting maintenance dose. These can include cramping, muscle or joint aches, sensitive skin, mood swings, light sensitivity, and/or headaches. All such side-effects are less intense when the potion is freshly-brewed, although the draughts may be safely stored for up to fourteen months before experiencing a significant loss of potency. Any side-effects crossing the threshold from slight discomfort to pain should be reported to a trained potioneer immediately as they can be a sign of improperly-brewed draughts or of more serious underlying medical issues unrelated to the Attisgalli Corrective Draught.
Despite occasional dismay from concerned groups (most often parents; most often those with strong ties to backwards Muggle ideas) there has been no evidence of any permanent damage or detrimental effects from the consumption of properly-brewed Attisgalli Corrective Draughts on either adolescent or adult bodies, and most reputable mediwix recommend starting children who express strong gender-disconnect on the low-dose version of the potion between the ages of ten and twelve. In rare cases, a half-dose may be given to younger children but it is not cleared for use by anyone under the age of six. The stronger version of the potion is not recommended for consumption by anyone who has not yet completed puberty, or by anyone who is hoping to become pregnant or to sire children in the near future. It may not legally be sold or prescribed to anyone under the age of seventeen.
The Attisgalli Corrective Draught is a stable and long-lasting potion that has few documented negative interactions with other spells and brews. Some of the those which it is known to react poorly with are: Polyjuice Potion, Full-Body Transfiguration, and Apparition (although in the latter case, this holds true only for the first month or two of dosage while the body adjusts; it is thus suggested that any student beginning their Apparition Lessons who has not already initiated treatment wait to do so until the lessons are complete and then to refrain from self-Apparition for a period of no less than two months). In most cases a regulatory half-dose is enough to cancel any ill effects, but it is best to consult a mediwix after any magical interaction.
Of course, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy provides regular doses to all students in need of the Attisgalli Corrective Draught, as should every reputable educational facility. It is considered a traditional part of a school Potion Master’s duties to brew the necessary draughts fresh, and any parent concerned that their child’s needs may be neglected should owl the head of their intended school immediately – or simply send their children to Hogwarts, which is after all the world’s premier source of magical education and which has a nearly flawless record with administering the Attisgalli Corrective Draught!

Unintentional Hiatus Apology:
Yo everybody I have to apologize for totally flaking-off the internet for ages! We (finally) hired someone new at work, and I've been training her -- and she's great! Really, no complaints; she's young and totally doesn't know anything yet really but that means no bad habits to erase so that's cool -- but it means that I have no "off" time at work when I'm not talking to people, and I have a limited amount of Interacting With Humans that I can do in any given period and I uh...I think I hit it real hard!
So I'm only NOW feeling recharged again after a while of basically burying myself in Skyrim and Oblivion and talking to no one who doesn't have the word "npc" attached to their name! Alas I do work again tomorrow, but I promise that I will now try to catch-up on messages and plots and stuff as quickly as I can, but please: if it takes me a while to respond to anything, know that it is not personal and I love you all!
If there are any threads that you want to drop because it’s taken me FOREVER to reply to you, just let me know! I promise I will be neither hurt nor offended by this (justifiable) choice -- but I intend to respond to everything (eventually) otherwise, I promise! Also if there are any major updates in your lives or your characters that you think I should know about, please don’t hesitate to throw them at me. I’ll try and skim back through the dash but I ah...I assume I missed A LOT so I’m not going to see even close to everything XD
Again: I am really really sorry about this. Please forgive me, I miss you guys!

RP PSA: I do not take the time to double-check my followers every time before I send a meme or an ask or I like a starter or whatever. So if I’m pestering you, tell me to go away – or just block me. I promise not to take it personally and come wailing into your inbox with whys or how dare yous? I TRULY don’t want to intentionally bother anyone…I’m just not always paying enough attention to realize I’m not welcome.
Conversely, if you approach me about doing a thing –in any fashion– and I’m not following you (even if the thing in question says “mutuals only”) I’m not going to be upset. If I’m NOT following you, it’s probably because A: I didn’t notice you start following me- B: I looked at your blog and couldn’t figure out a way to interact at first glance or I couldn’t read it- or C: I was but you never seemed interested in playing with me so I left.
I’m honestly a really chill and easy-going roleplayer…and I know that sometimes that can clash with other people who are more precise. I’m sorry about that; if I’ve ever pestered you after you’ve soft-blocked or unfollowed me and you’re wondering why I’m being an asshole and not getting the hint and going away…honestly? It’s because I didn’t get the hint. Tell me again. EXPLICITLY. Or again: just block my ass. It’s honestly fine.

Update on Updates:
First of all, SORRY! I promise I haven’t actually disappeared again; it’s just that I work retail and we’re in the midst of Capitalistmas Shopping Season here, and add to that all the stuff I have to do to get ready for Hogswatch and I’m all of a sudden much busier than I usually am! I’ll try to flit in for replies when I can, but at the very worst I’ll be back in January when all the nonsense ends. Sorry!

❤️ for Rey, ♜ for Mirta, ✘ for both
❤ - what was the moment that first made you fall in love with REY?
You know, I still don’t have a proper answer for this one! Sorry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
✘ - what do other people tend to get wrong about MIRTA GEV & REY?
For Mirta, let’s talk about Troy Denningfor a minute. Because while I think Denning is a good writer, I think he is terrible at writing in a shared universe. When he’s just doing his own thing, focusing on the characters he likes, he’s fine and dandy! As soon as he tries to play well with others…well, frankly, he doesn’t. And this became extremely apparent to me at the end of the Legacy of the Force series.
How does this relate to Mirta? Because Denning wrote a scene where Jacen Solo was interrogating Mirta, and he threatened to scar her pretty face. And she, at least as far as Jacen could tell, quavered at that idea. Because OBVIOUSLY any “pretty” girl would find that horrifying. Because OBVIOUSLY the fact that Mirta didn’t have scars all over her face, and was yet part of a warrior culture, meant that she would react to the idea of scars with horror. And not, oh I don’t know, perhaps laugh in Jacen’s face and tell him to shove it.
In Mandalorian culture, scars are considered badges of honor for a fight well fought and are not actually seen as ugly…but you know, whatever Denning, it’s not like you bothered to actually read anything that Traviss wrote about Mirta or the Mando’ade before you wrote your part of the story, is it? So how would you know or care about that?
Anyway…I’ve never seen anyone else playing Mirta in rp, and thus have no comments to make on what people may or may not get wrong about portraying her here…but the actual canon books on the other hand? Yeah. Nar’sheb, Denning.
I headcanon that Mirta was actually upset at the thought of the nanovirus, and just let Jacen think he’d scared her with the dumb scar threat, and by that point Jacen was so far lost in the Caeduspersona he couldn’t look past his own ego to notice.
For Rey…I don’t know. I’m not sure it’s so much “tend to get wrong” as just “isn’t the way I see the character,” which are not at all the same thing – but I do think some people play her a little too nice. Hapless. Bland. Kind. That tends to happen to just about every female character, though! I don’t think it’s anything specific about Rey.
Although if we want more ranting about bad canon writers...the whole “Rey Nobody” theory is dumb as hell, not because Rey needs to be “related to somebody we know” to be special or important -- but because A: the entire first movie set it up that she was an Organa-Solo did have a major family connection to discover so the “surprise twist” of negating that is just....bad writing, actually? and B: Rey already thought her parents were nobody important so it’s not “subverting” any of her expectations, actually, to make them “nobodies.” Rey didn’t want to find A Special Destiny As The Chosen One (did you not see how she reacted to the lightsaber, Rian? she literally ran away from the idea of having A Destiny) she wanted a family. A family that would come back for her, a family that cared. She wanted love...not “specialness.” And again: it’s not a “clever twist” to just break everything that the writer before you in a shared universe set-up and just leave a story in ruins without even crafting anything to replace it...it’s just bad writing.
The only thing I see people in rp do a lot with her that I just can’t wrap my head around is the reylo ship…because I can’t help but see her and Kylo Ren as analogous to Jaina and Jacen, no matter what it turns out Rey’s canonical lineage is or is not, because that was how they appeared to me immediately during the first few minutes of TFA. But that’s not something that other people do wrong, it’s just not something that fits my pov!
♜ - what is the strongest or most reliable thing about MIRTA GEV?
This is tricky because Mirta is such a strong character to begin with…but I think it’s her sense of loyalty. Her devotion. Once Mirta has embraced a cause or a culture, she’ll go to Hell and back for it – even if it ends up being a disappointing grandfather who turned out to be not as villainous (nor as paternal) as Mirta had wanted. She wasn’t raised fully Mandalorian, but once she decided that they were her people then they were her people. Full-stop. She embraced that part of her identity 110% and dragged ba’buir along with her whether he liked it or not. She’ll fight for her people, bleed for them, die for them if she has to. She’ll never give up, not on them and not on restoring their planet, and not on training the Mandalore to live up to what he’s supposed to be…again, whether Fett likes it or not. And she sure as osik won’t let him die before he’s fulfilled his duty.
Activity Notice:
I’m back on this blog, kind of, on a case-by-case basis. If there’s somebody you want to play with, message me or something and I’ll probably say yes, but I’m only going to be reaching-out myself a little bit if something really catches my eye because I’m trying not to get too overwhelmed with things. I’m currently in a (fucking brilliant) Marauders AU Group too and that takes priority on responses right now, so I don’t want to get carried away! But I am here, hi.
