another reminder that transfem jax is canon.

i’m starting to realize that a lot of people simply refuse to accept a trans character that is messy, not fully out, hasn’t fully accepted herself yet, and isn’t “perfect.” a lot of the reactions to jax have just filled me with sadness. because it IS that deep- yes, jax is a fictional character, but what do your reactions to her say about how you view real trans people?

it should be fucking obvious, but trans people are allowed to exist in whatever way they are. they’re allowed to not be fully out. they’re allowed to be messy. they don’t have to be “perfect.” they’re allowed to do whatever the fuck they want, because (and i emphasize this point) trans people existing does not affect your life in any way. so why would you do anything except for accept them and mind your own fucking business?

Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*

I’ve been surviving on peanut butter sandwiches since I can’t store food, and I can’t run a fan or AC in this heat.
