Alright. So. In Animal Crossing New Horizons how well two given villagers get along is determined by three factors:
Element (derived from their star sign)
Species
Personality
Each of these can give from zero to five points, so the theoretical maximum is fifteen points. This is then reduced to "bad", "neutral", or "good".
In Project Special K there's a planned romancing system, which is why some time back I asked for sexuality headcanons for the ACNH cast, and included a sexuality question in the Villager Submission form.
So I was thinking, what if I take the raw get along score and add a multiplier depending on the villagers' genders and sexuality? Ace villagers get a Ă0 multiplier, so it effectively becomes zero, an incompatible sexuality halves it, and compatible sexuality leaves it as-is. Have two different final results, "they will" or "they won't".
So let's say the get along score is twelve, one of the villagers is a bi boy and the other a hetero girl, their romance score would be twelve too. If the girl were a lesbian, that score would be six instead which may be in the "they won't" zone. But if it were a max fifteen get along score, seven could be considered "if it's you it's okay" or something like that. Just barely in the "they would" zone. I'm open to suggestions. And of course an ace villager would get along with another just fine, but always get a zero romance score.
It's a bit simple, but it'd be manageable.
The bigger issue then becomes, how does this apply to the player trying to romance a villager? Villagers in ACNH have a friendship score from zero to 255 towards the player, I could use that I guess? Right-shift it by four/divide it by sixteen to get a 0-15 range like the get along score and run from there?
Of course, both the three get along ratings and the two romance ratings would be defined in a JSON file so you can mod it to your heart's content.
I think what you're looking for is aromantic rather than ace? But that's a minor quibble. I get your meaning.
The real issue is this precludes hate-snogging. We need a formula that will sometimes, very rarely make two villagers romantically compatible even though they don't get along.
Maybe this can be done with a deliberate integer overflow.
The eye doctor is the most fun doctor you can go to. They never steal your blood. They never make you get naked and put on a paper dress. They're just like, "Can you see these letters? It's fine if you can't, we can fix that." And they don't even spell anything.
Gen AI is nothing special I can also draw / write badly, help you with math inconsistently, answer you dubiously, and consume amounts of water you would think are physically impossible

Asuka is such a dick for this
Like we all know asuka is stronger than shinji and rei combined sheâs an industry baby and puts a lot of pride into her piloting 02. Rei has half of her stitches loose and shinji spends 90% of his time rotting in his room listening to shitty new wave. but she makes this malnourished Victorian child open the door instead because #gender roles

We don't have to face giant 𪳠thanks to ancient Egyptians stood and fought against them.
Hi everyone! This is an illustrated guide I made as part of my co-admining work at The Middle Eastern Feminist on Facebook! It will be published there shortly. The technique that is displayed here is a genuine one used in psychology - I forgot the name and couldnât find it again so if you know about it, feel free to tell me! Some could say: âYes but you can use that technique for instances of harassment other than Islamophobic attacks!â, and my reply is: Sure! Please do so, it also works for other âtypesâ of harassment of a lone person in a public space!! However Iâm focusing on protecting Muslims here, as they have been very specific targets lately, and as a French Middle Eastern woman, I wanted to try and do something to raise awareness on how to help when such things happen before our eyes - that way one cannot say they âdidnât know what to doâ! Iâd like to insist on two things: 1) Do not, in any way, interact with the attacker. You must absolutely ignore them and focus entirely on the person being attacked! 2) Please make sure to always respect the wishes of the person youâre helping: whether they want you to leave quickly afterwards, or not! If youâre in a hurry escort them to a place where someone else can take over - call one of their friends, or one of yours, of if they want to, the police. It all depends on how they feel! For my fellow French-speakers: I will translate it in French and post it on my page as soon as I can :) Please donât hesitate to share this guide as it could push a lot of people to overcome bystander syndrome!! Lots of love and stay safe! PS: I you repost this cartoon of mine on twitter or instagram, please add me in the post so I can see it, with @itsmaeril :)
An important reminder today, and every day.
This is based off of the Non-Complementary technique in psychology - also known as âflipping the scriptâ.
It is a legitimate tactic for defusing a situation that could otherwise escalate to become quite nasty.
People instinctively reciprocate anger with anger and kindness with kindness, but what happens when someone breaks this âcomplementary be
