Prompt 2: House of wolves
Somewhere deep in the underbelly of an alley way Niamh walked alone. It was an odd job from the scions, investigate some sort of anomaly dealings. Niamh didn't mind small jobs too much, it took her away from well...being more involved with being called the warrior of light. She hated being called that, every day she would wish for a life without hearing that voice.
"Hear this...fuck off" Niamh grumbled as shook her head. Her hair had grown longer, keeping it out of the way was almost becoming a problem as she stuffed it back under her hood. A black cape draped over her white dress, she was attempting to blend in however her pink hair would always stick out like such a sore thumb.
When she arrived at the tavern she slipped inside and sat at a table in the corner. A waitress approached her as she heard "Somethin to drink love?" Niamh waved her hand holding a few gil "An ale and...stew if ya got it" the waitress nodded as she took the gil and headed back to the kitchen. Niamh watched in silence at the scene, loud but full of other patrons. A slide of her foot under the table as she pulsed her aether to sense what she was looking for. She wasn't focused at the waitress who left the food and drink as she felt a faint ping. There it was, two men hunched over as she saw auracite glimmer from one's hand. Niamh needed to grab that, it was what the scions were trying to intercept. She scanned the area as she noticed several folks who looked intimidating and one fight might set the whole place apart. Niamh grinned as she stood up and walked over towards their table. One of the men quickly hid the auracite as another flashed their knife at her.
"Well What brings ya over here lass? surely not for our good looks" the man laughed. Niamh gave a mocking laugh "Suuure, thing" she pointed to the other gentleman "You have something I need...I know what you have"
"Well I don't know what you are talkin about miss" he squinted at Niamh as he moved his arm behind his back. Fatal mistake as Niamh noticed as she swiftly pinned him back to the wall. The man let out a loud cry as the tavern went silent. Niamh felt eyes on her as she grinned "Give me...the auracite...or I can make this muuch worse for you" she spoke in a low threatening but sickly sweet voice. The other man ran over as he pulled the back of Niamh's head holding a blade to her neck.
"Now now, let's not cause a scene" he whispered in her ear. Niamh did not care. She raised her foot as it sprung a blade from the heel as she quickly drove it down the man's foot. He released Niamh as she quickly ran to the other as she suddenly felt a tug on her long hair.
"Now now missy, ye can't be startin fights like this" another man had grabbed a hold of her hair. Niamh sighed as she closed her eyes.
"Keep that bitch pinned" the man who she had pinned had stood up with a knife in hand as he ran to attack her. "Let's mark that pretty face of yours" Niamh shook her head "Well your funeral I suppose" she grinned as she twisted her body to dodge the attack. However the man swung and chopped her long hair off. Niamh briefly paused as she saw all her long locks touch the floor. A breeze around her exposed neck as she felt a rage.
"You know how fuckin' long it took to grow that shit out???" she yelled as she ran at the man full force into a tackle. Her eyes glowed brightly as she tackled him down and began to punch his face. Bystanders gawked as each blow was harder than the last. Niamh felt her fists grow wet. Not realizing the other man ran behind her and stabbed her abdomen. Niamh paused as she looked down and saw blood pool from her abdomen. She looked at the man in shock as she narrowed her eyes. "You don't know who the fuck I am huh?" she grinned as she pulled the blade out and stood up. Her eyes glowing bright green as she ran full speed.
"Stop her!!!" the other man shouted as several larger guys tried to punch her. Niamh moved with grace as if she were dancing to avoid punches. She would swing her leg which had a bladed heel around slicing legs and abdomens. Niamh was punched in the face as she felt blood down her face, she then placed a hand against it and looked at the blood. Her mouth contorted into the biggest smile, it seemed unnatural. "Now that's what I'm talking about". She hated being the warrior of light and for her to feel anything, she often wanted nothing more than the thrill of bloodlust and fighting to feel alive.
Niamh ended up winning that brawl as she walked out of the tavern bloodied with the auracite in her hand. She shuffled back to the inn where the scions were waiting for her. She felt elated, despite having several stab wounds and bleeding profusely.
"Good gods Niamh, it wasn't a hard job! Just even a simple pick pocketing would have been fine" Thancred yelled at her as he guided her to a bed. He then yelled for medical as she laid there holding on to that crystal. She laughed as she spat out blood "Can't a girl have some fun!! Leaving me alone in that tavern was yooour idea" she laid there as the churigon and Tataru tended to her wounds. Niamh was subjected to rest for a while. However she knew with how fast her wounds would heal up, rest was not an option.
Being left alone Niamh's mind wandered as she looked at the auracite. However a pair of hands plucked it away as she looked over and saw it was Minfilia. Niamh looked away in shame as she knew the rest of the scions would send her. If she cared for anyone it would be Minfilia.
"Niamh...you can't keep doing this to yourself, the mothercrystals gifts are not to be squa-"
"Squandered???? More like I didn't WISH for this you know...Every day I see someones memory, I see things I do not want to see...to be involved in conflicts, to hear HER voice" Niamh quickly cut Minfilia off as she looked back with tears down her eyes. Niamh hated to be vulnerable but to Minfilia she was the easiest to talk to. Their relationship was sisterly, something Niamh needed so desperately, family and a friend.
"They cut my hair Minmin!" Niamh sniffled, "Minmin" was her nickname for Minfilia as Minfilia sighed and laid next to Niamh. She would lean close to Niamh.
"Nia...it's okay, hair can grow back!" Nia was Minfilia's nickname for Niamh as they both laid there. Niamh openly sobbed as she felt Minfilia squeeze her gently.
"I didn't wish for this...I want to go home..."
"We don't have a choice you and I...it seems she has something for the two of us"
