hello all, we received a lot of questions yesterday from people wanting to do something to help the pinch hitters, to give them some kind of reward for their hard work since they deserve it. and they do, which is why we’re making this post.Â
the biggest way to help pinch hitters is feedback! they don’t get a gift fic, but sometimes getting kudos and loving comments can be just as satisfying and rewarding.Â
now, since it’s anonymous, we know that you all don’t know who the pinch hitters are, so you’ll have to extend some love to all the works in the exchange. give them a reblog to help more people find out they’re here. give the works some kudos. leave a comment and tell the writer what you loved about it.Â
the most rewarding thing about writing is seeing how much people love it, so tell people that you love their work. help other people find the work so they can love it too.Â
sure a kudo and a comment might not be the same thing as a gift fic, but if you want to reward the writers for their hard work then this is how you can do it!Â

Are the pitch hitters going to have a Fic written for them? Or is it kinda a one sided thing where they write a fanfic and get nothing in return?
unfortunately they don’t get a fic in return. that’s just the way ao3 is, we put their name in the bit where the writer goes and they get the assignment. there is no option for them to put in a request. plus, if we took prompts from pinch hitters then we’d have to find someone to write those and someone to write those people’s prompts and so on and so on. it’d be a never ending cycle.Â
so yeah, no gift for pinch hitters :( that’s why pinch hitters are so awesome bc they help give someone a gift without worrying about getting something in return.Â

due to a last minute drop out, we are going to revert back to posting one fic every other day so that way we can give our pinch hitter enough time to write their fic.Â
