A Vessel for a Muerto
Recent Vessel, May/June 2026.
I received a trabajo to create a Vessel back in early May for a client at my Etsy shop quoVeneficium. I gathered some basic deets about the fella I was going to build it for, like general birth chart information. This helps me see what he needs on a basic level. I gather what colors - 1-5 of them, older the muerto the fewer colors typically or if they are military, they get fewer too.
Why? The fewer the colors for them means they still hold rank and are seen as guardian muertos. The actual colors themselves are at a soul level. I cannot share them here but my client has purple and black indicating "The Gran Muerto," or muerto in charge. I only knew that I was building something very powerful and that I needed to treat it with great care and responsibility.
The first steps were consecration and smudging. I was very particular about my herbs for my omiero, which is a lustral water mostly used in Santería. I got trained how to make and use omiero via muerto and books in Spanish. I use palos (sticks), Spanish herbs, as well as European/American herbs with no shame. My omiero's are cooked but work amazing.
Anyway, I carefully clean the Vessel with omiero, smudge it with Yerba Santa and begin the process of filling it. I cannot give ingredients but a few...For some reason, I had an intuition to take my tiny print NLV Bible and tear out Psalm 23 to put in the Vessel. Never done that before! This will be notable later!! ;) Another ingredient is Black Tourmaline. This stone guards against EMF, which muertos despise.
Jet beads are an ingredient in which muertos stick to like glue! Jet was worn by the Victorians for mourning as a part of their wardrobe. "French" Jet is black glass. Real Jet is extremely light, feels like wood, and is quite effective for grief, I found! So, this "stone" is great for Vessels. The thing that ppl don't know is that Jet will absorb any Death Energy that it can. ANY. So know where you're going when you wear it!
The herbs and powders that I use are not written down. In fact, most of the items aren't because each Vessel must be a completely separate entity than any other that I've built! Really, all humans differ, right? I'd never insult a muerto by using the same ingredients! The Vessel stayed on Roddy's shrine. I figured he could chat.
John's place. Very sunny that day. My husbands shadow on the left. There's another photo too on findagrave.
Back at the beginning, mid-May, I had a vision. It was our graveyard. I saw the right side of it. Never where I go when I gather. I'm always on the left by the bikers. My inner vision showed me a quaint place. I put the vision away.
Graveyard time came! We had some shitty weather, then Memorial day..the next day we made it. My husband takes me into the country about 18 miles away. I'm armed with my graveyard kit: Black pouch, record keeping quartz, Florida water, coins for muerto and Centella, a railroad nail, jar, and sandwich. I had no liquor so Centella told me to offer food. I don't use any device to find a muerto, ever.
With my "deady" senses, I located the back side of a old, broken nearly in half tombstone. I wasn't feeling sure until I looked at the front! The old stone bore a military crest with just a name and service of duty (MOS). It said:
John T. Kyniston --Co B -- 5 Iowa Cal
No birthday or death day. I felt immediately: CIVIL WAR!! My husband doubted me. :/ But that was later.
I set up and did my "muerto gathering." Its very friendly and its not commanding. John was very easy and quick. I told him what I was doing and he practically jumped into the crystal. I never have done constraints. John was an angel. He stayed until I released him by voice into the Vessel. Other muertos don't wait for me and leave Roddy's shrine area. I have to call them back by using a tool like my Baston de Muerto. The bells get them! That's one reason we use bells.
I was enticed to check John's name on the internet. I found the 5th Iowa Calvary easily but doubted I'd find him. Well, lo and behold - John is listed at the end of the K's! So he WAS Civil War, for the Union! Swear that I was a young man in that war. The Civil War has fascinated me since I was young. I feel called to that area. Anyway! I went to findagrave and found his whole name, birthday, death day, and dead family!
Its funny too - John told me that he loves psalms and I did not know when I put psalm 23 in the Vessel. I had no previous knowledge of him. Then he told me which ones were his favorites so I could tell my client. Looks like John responds really well when my client recites them! From what I hear, the Vessel is awesome! :D Sweet!
To that vision that I had? It is exactly where John's grave is!
Por el amor de los muertos. <3 8=X <3
