Nexus Geographic

Photographer's datachron note, Rian L. speaking:  "Sometimes we find beauty and humanity in the most unexpected places."

This was the last set of pictures I got to take in Everstar and my first foray into covert surveillance.  While I was taking these pictures of the oddly understaffed base, the Dominion forces were surrounding the Grove. I never got them to 'interested parties', a Watcher found me on my way back and got me through the portal to Celestion.

The more I talked about what I saw exploring, the more people wanted to see themselves. I snapped a few pictures for those who didn't, or couldn't, follow my paths.

Photographer's datachron note, Rian L. speaking:  "Nothin' like spending a few weeks in the field and findin' out your upload repeater got corrupted and nothin' made it through.  I hate the Strain."

Another early set of recordings.  This set was recaptioned after events involving Elderroot as the original captions were a little hard to bear, and, in retrospect, far too optimistic.

Photographer's datachron note, Rian L. speaking:  "Focus of Air, Galeras.  Between the Focus, the moons, and the stars, I'm feelin' mighty small."

Photographer's datachron note, Rian L. speaking:  "Three damn days we spent trying to get into this thing.  It's sheer and has no apparent entrances and exits.  The area around it is idyllic'n'peaceful - nothing hostile, the grass is soft and lush and almost greener than green, trees are friendly, enough Primal Life to make a Mordesh Alchemist cream their labcoat.  Sunset of Day 3 we had to admit defeat (half 'cause we didn't bring explosives and half 'cause we wouldn't've wanted to use 'em).  Smarts as an explorer to leave without getting inside, but we flagged the area for an XAS team with better climbing equipment than us."

Photographer's datachron note, Rian L. speaking:  "Wilderrun.  I nearly dropped my holocamera when I saw mixed Torine-Osun architecture in this Osun stronghold.  The two races have always been hostile to each other from what we've seen, so where'd this come from?  I gotta get an XAS archeology team out here.  Spotted a tower with what looks like more mixed architecture off the charted map too - making an expedition to explore it tomorrow."

Photographer's datachron note, Rian L. speaking:  "Aurora borealis in the Algoroc mountains.  Fresh air, high peaks, and loftite - what more does an Explorer need?"

Editor's note, Moshe S. speaking:  "Protip:   when both the soles of your shoes and the base of your tripod are on fire, you may have chosen the wrong place to take pictures from.  Moron."

Our first encounters with Nexus were full of surprises, good and bad.  I took these images and future ones of Everstar Grove before becoming a staff photographer for the Nexus Geographic project so the subjects vary widely.
