Hi, I'm Curse, a disabled Brazilian trans woman who has been struggling with terrible chest dysphoria for ages. I've been working hard towards getting gender affirming breast augmentation with one of the few surgeons in the country who specialize in it.
We managed (with great effort) to save up for the procedure itself, but we still need quite a bit for preliminary tests, the hospital stay itself, travel and hotel costs for upcoming appointments, etc, since me and my wives need to go to another city several hours away for it. We do not have any sort of insurance, so this will rack up quite a debt if unaided.

The largest mass shooting in American history was a hate crime against gay people. Donāt ever forget that.
June 12, 2016. Putting a date on this for when it gets reblogged months from now by people who think the post is about something from 30, 40 years ago.
I am a survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting, having grown up in Orlando and just turned 20 a month prior. If you didnāt know, there were several families who refused to claim the bodies of their relatives due to their sexuality. One family even had their relativeās name removed from the memorial. Murdered by the same hate with which their families reject them in both life and death.
Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was Godās punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:
We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldnāt live with the pain.
The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.
At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:

Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.
This year was the sixth anniversary. The first couple years I received dozens of messages checking in on me on 6/12. Year 5 got enough news coverage for people to think to reach out to me. This year it was my therapist, the woman I kissed in that photo, and a couple of other gun violence survivor friends. People are forgetting already.
With the 7 year anniversary <2 weeks away, I figured Iād reblog this
On this day, 16 June 1982, the Bradford 12, all members of the United Black Youth League on trial for preparing to defend their community from fascists, were acquitted of all charges in a landmark case. They had been arrested for preparing a cache of petrol bombs to protect themselves from fascists who had been active in the area, carrying out racist attacks. One of the defendants, Tariq Mehmood, defended himself in court, and along with the other defence lawyers they laid bare mass police negligence with regards to defending Asian and Afro-Caribbean communities from racist attacks. The not guilty verdicts effectively established the rights of Black and Asian communities to self-defence. The trial also saw a nationwide campaign for the activists' release with their comrades declaring "The politicians and police have failed us. Our youth are our only protection. [...] Now they have been taken away from us. We must not fail them. We must fight to bring them back. They have defended our community. We must now defend them." At that time in Britain, racists considered all people of colour as "Black", so Afro-Caribbean, Asian and other activists of colour formed the idea of "political Blackness" to try to build unity against racism. Teenās organs failing & NO TREATMENT in >1 MONTH
19-year-old Khalil Al Habil's liver and kidneys are failing. Shrapnel damage from the bombardment that killed his baby brother Omar has gone mostly untreated due to a lack of funds and resources. The ill effects of this damage have progressed to the point that the organs are losing their ability to function. Khalil urgently needs 3 rounds of treatment to combat the effects of his deteriorating liver and kidneys.
We've paid off the first round of treatments but Khalil has two treatments that he still needs. The second costs about $1,250 usd, but we havenāt made much progress in more than a month and his condition is getting progressively worse. We need to meet this second goal ASAP!!!
