It’s been a while and I thought I should let you know I’m not using this blog anymore. I’m leaving as an archive but from this point on it it officially inactive.

Slytherin.

The one house Albus had been dreading getting placed in, the one house that his parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents hated for years. He would’ve been fine in any of the other houses. Sure Gryffindor would have been great, but Teddy had always said great things about the Hufflepuff common room, and although it would be difficult to answer the questions given by the eagle door knocker, at least he would have Victoire. But no, the damn hat just had to yell out “SLYTHERIN.”

The hat was taken from Albus’ head and he stared around at everyone in the great hall, most of their jaws had dropped from the shock that Harry Potters son was sorted into Slytherin. Averting his eyes from the Gryffindor table in fear of James’ reaction Albus slowly stood up. At the Slytherin table he noticed Lysander standing up and start cheering at the top of his lungs, Scorpius Malfoy quickly followed and in an instant every other Slytherin was cheering. He made his way towards his new house putting on a fake smile, but the warm welcome and cheers did nothing to drive away his disappointment.

He sat down next to Scorpius who smiled at him warmly and Albus smiled back, but the moment he looked back to the front waiting for the next persons house to be announced he couldn’t help but let his smile drop.

Albus made his way out of the great hall with Scorpius who was talking about the latest Quidditch match when he heard someone calling his name, he turned to see James standing near the entrance of the great hall waving him over.

Sighing he turned to Scorpius who had stopped with him, “I need to go talk to my brother, catch up with you later?”

“Yeah, you sure you don’t want me to wait?”

“No it’s alright,” he replied “no point in both of us not knowing the way to the common rooms.”

Scorpius nodded saying a quick goodbye before chasing after the other Slytherin first years, Albus turned back to James who looked as though he was getting impatient. He made his way through the now empty corridor before stopping in front of James who had his arms crossed in front of him.

“Whats wrong with you?” James asked tone impatient.

Albus avoided his gaze starting to feel tears in his eyes as he muttered, “It’s not my fault I’m in Slytherin.”

There was silence from James before he finally spoke up “That’s not what I’m talking about.” Albus’ head snapped up in shock as he looked at his brothers perplexed expression “I legit just wanted to know what the matter was. You’ve had that same look you got when you thought Teddy was mad at you cause you ate his chocolate all night. Is that why you’ve been in a mood, cause you were put in Slytherin.”

Albus nodded matter of factly “Of course it was, I mean I’m the first Potter to be put in Slytherin, the house that the whole family hated for years. They’ll probably hate me now, you’ll probably hate me now.”

His gaze fell to the floor again as he heard James scoff “You are an idiot, I hope you know that.” Albus looked up in fear “Discrimination against other houses was demolished years ago, you know that. And sure uncle Ron occasionally makes a comment about how terrible Slytherins are but thats cause he was raised with that idea, I’m sure the moment he hears you were sorted into Slytherin he’ll cheering Slytherin on at Quidditch matches too. No one is going to hate you because of the house you’re in Al.”

“Not even you?”

“You’re joking right, one of my best mates is in Slytherin yet you think I hate them, that’s just stupid.”

Albus laughed slightly before hugging his brother who hugged him back just as tightly before ruffling his hair and pulling away “Now come on, I’ll show you to the Slytherin common rooms.”

They started walking away from the great hall before Albus spoke up “James, how do you know where the Slytherin common rooms are?”

“I’m guessing it’s a good burger? Can I have some?”

You can find a list of the characters and descriptions over here however since then I have added two new characters so I’ll give you a description now.

Lana Thomas-Finnigan: Daughter of Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas, Ravenclaw, she loves dancing and is a bit of a control freak when it comes to organisation. She was adopted by Seamus and Dean when she was 3, she had already shown signs of magic at her foster home.

KP Thomas-Finnigan: Child of Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas, Slytherin, non-binary. Their birth parents were killed by a werewolf when they were four and afterwards they were bitten by the same werewolf, Dean and Seamus were introduced to them by Harry who had been the one to find them and the couple adopted them later on.
