When you have a bad dream, Jack always wakes up before you do. He can just sense that somethings wrong, even if the bad dream isnāt causing you to toss and turn
His first resort is always to squeeze your shoulder, and if you donāt jump, heāll slide his hand down your arm and over you, holding you tight and gently reassuring you that heās right there
And if you are a little jumpy, heāll hold off for a little bit but whisper comforting words until you calm down
And once your calm and youāre in his arms, heāll hum the tune of Santa Fe until you fall back asleep
Crutchieās a pretty good sleeper, not ever really sleeping too heavy or too light, but like Jack, he can sense when somethingās up. He may not always wake up in time to wake you up from a bad dream, but once he is awake, he wonāt fall back asleep until you do
Heās a worrier, and doesnāt take jumpiness very well. Heās always afraid heāll make things worse, so he always approaches you gentlyĀ
Once youāre awake, heāll get you to face him so he can wipe away any tears that have fallen
As you calm down, heāll kiss you on the forehead and ask you if you want to talk about it
If you do, his eyes never leave yours, listening patiently as you talk through it. And if not, he never pushes you to, instead he just pulls you close to him and buries his head in the crook of your neck, waiting until you fall asleep to relax again.
Daveyās a softie when it comes to you, and heās especially soft when he needs to comfort you. So when you wake up crying, heās tender in shushing you and gently wiping your tears away
Suuuuper big on kisses. When you canāt stop thinking about the terrible dream you had, heāll kiss you to distract you from it. When you finally come down, he kisses your nose and promises heās right there beside you
He always wants to know whatās wrong in hopes he can somehow keep your bad dream from ever happening again, because it kills him to see you upset over something he canāt directly fix
He knows enough about psychology to explain some of the things that occur in your bad dreams and talks you through them so you understand that theyāre rationalĀ
And once youāre both ready to go back to sleep, he always stays up just a little longer to make sure you donāt wake up again
Race is a heavy sleeper. Sometimes it takes you having to wake him up in order for him to be able to comfort you but once heās awake, his hands are immediately on your face, soothing you and wiping away any tears
Super big on comforting words. Heāll run his hands all over your arms, your back, and your face while whispering,Ā āAre you alright? Whatās wrong? Youāre okay, Iām right here with you. Iām not going anywhere. Iām right hereā
He cries a little bit if he canāt get you to calm down quickly
But once you finally settle, he wants to hear everything about it, while gently running his fingers through your hair and brushing your cheek with his thumb
If you have trouble falling back asleep, heāll get up and fix you a warm drink to help, and once youāre finished, heāll wrap you up and tell you stories from the top of his head until you finally get back to sleep.
