Maleficent finished the page without looking at Regina, comfortably lounging on the couch, before she put the book down and lifted her gaze. There was something about her steps, the way she was breathing, little sounds, that made it unnecessary to look at her to know how she was feeling. They had known each other for too long now, and barely anything escaped the dragon’s sharp senses. Ever since they met, they were each other’s constant, something that never changed, and something that could go back to it’s most natural and original form with a mere touch, no matter how much time passed, and no matter what happened between them. It was something no betrayal or argument could change. Maleficent would always have her arms wide open for her little queen, providing her with advice and comfort.
this had become her every day. now that she was no longer with robin, and zelena and him had decided to co-parent their newest addition, life seemed to be back to------- well, whatever their normal was. there was still the small matter of emma, but she’d decided that her parents could handle it. she was tired of babysitting a grown woman. still, she felt like there wasn’t anything to occupy her time anymore. work wise, that was.
