when I give report to the next shift after working my ass off

when your patient is crumping and you've maxed out on everything:

when i get to work early and find my best friend in the breakroom

On the last day of my long stretch off

when its the end of the month and the well trained residents leave us

when the dayshift RN emphasizes how 'intense' the patient's family is

when i'm blowing around all night with the busiest patient load

when i get a paycheck with tons of overtime on it

when my boss says "it was in the staff meeting minutes i emailed"

when it's 0730 and my patient's call light turns on AGAIN

When my long-term, DNR, trach patient wants to devour cheetos

getting report from a nurse rambling about the patients sheets, family, favorite music, etc

when a code is called and there are suddenly 100 people in the room

when i have had the night from hell and someone asks what i need help with

Going back to work after 4th of July weekend...
