i'm still fascinated by the Love Bullet situation, and i can only imagine how baffled the magazine/company must be as well

What happened there?

manga got insanely popular in english through scanlations. english-speaking fans started spending money on it. eventually, the first volume comes out and people catch wind that the series is threatened with cancellation if it doesn't sell well enough. evidently, it's not selling well enough in japan. overseas fans then rally around the series and buy it, digitally or through importing copies. it works and the series is renewed for a second volume. soon after, it's licensed by Seven Seas, the fastest ive ever seen a manga be licensed

Two dudes in my group chat have been playing league & slowly but surely have shifted from saying "wanna play league of legends" to "wanna play some geego legends". At this point their average post is just @ing the other and going "geegogagand?" and I feel insane

I got a job at a gas station across from a casino and a guy keeps coming in to buy whole cartons of cigarettes and talks in the third person calling himself "snake eyes pete" and every time I tell him his total hes like "tell ya what if old Pete rolls a snake eyes why dont you give it to him for free?" and he rolls the same set of loaded dice on the counter and it does not matter how many times he rolls snake eyes I will not give him the cartons for free he gets so mad
