The Song We Couldn’t Write

i don’t think rumi would ever say “im going to kill myself” when upset but i DO think she says “somebody kill me” whenever mildly inconvenienced, which always slid by the radar pre-movie because it was never really that concerning of a statement to anyone. like setting up for an interview or something she accidentally fumbles with her mic a bit and drops it on the floor and mutters “ah somebody kill me” and everyone laughs it off. POST-movie however she drops a casual “ugh someone kill me” after forgetting something at the store and zoey and mira instantly snap their mouths shut and slowly rotate their heads toward her with horrified expressions and she frantically has to backtrack

my favorite thing about the “rumi’s purple hair is a natural demon trait” headcanon is the fact it implies rumi was so desperate to convince other people she was human that she dyed her eyebrows brown to trick people into thinking she was dyeing her hair purple. something she did not need to do. since mira, the only person in the group who is ACTUALLY dyeing her hair, literally has pink eyebrows

polytrix on a road trip but only zoey and mira have licenses so they toss rumi in the back and tell her to play candy crush while they chauffeur her around. they have no idea how to get where they’re going so they’ve got a gps showing them the way, except it becomes abundantly clear within 10 minutes of driving that they have to be as discreet as possible in checking the map because if they so much as huddle around it together for ONE SECOND rumi will slowly crane her neck in between the seats and go “can i help” to which the answer is ALWAYS a unanimous no and two different hands shoving her back into her seat
