New Canons Of Age!

Ethan carries like 10lb of fandom stuff in his backpack at all times, along with his laptop and probably one or two textbooks for class (that he’s not actually going to use in his lectures.) His broad back and great butt are the result of walking a lot while carrying that weight. His spine may be made of solid titanium.

If Dina and Becky ever break up, by the time she’s 40 Becky will have learned an encyclopedia’s worth of trivia and information on whatever her past girlfriends’ interests were. She may still know the most about dinosaurs and biology, though.

Also, Becky was, if maybe not the “popular” girl at her church, the girl everybody knew and had a very good opinion of -something not even Joyce fully accomplished.

(If those guys ever have a reunion of sorts, like a high school reunion but for homeschooled church kids, the ones organizing it will say not to invite Becky, because lesbianism and obnoxiousness, but she’ll receive secret invites from like a third of the crew, and a couple more invites not specifically to the reunion, but to hang out elsewhere around the same dates.)

Ethan is Danny’s first real gay crush, but he had plenty of boy-crushes back in middle and high school, the type where he was like “I don’t know if I wanna be you or be on you”. He made some good friends through those crushes and all but cried out loud heartbroken whenever he didn’t.

(He still hasn’t forgiven Mandy Jensen from seventh grade for implying he and Joe were an item. Partly because of how Joe himself teased him for it for years.)

Speaking of him, Danny has his studies surprisingly together. He’s the type to start his coding assignments the same afternoon he’s tasked with them. It’s just as much of Dorothy’s influence on him, as this behavior is his influence on Dorothy.

Speaking of coding, there’s a (joking) betting pool on whether Alex and Alex are the same person or not. There’s some people who seriously believe it, but most people bet on it like “new Alex is old Alex’ shadow that trapped him in a TV” or “old Alex went through mitosis and generated new Alex and an unknown byproduct” or “new Alex is old Alex who travelled back in time to tell herself she was trans” and the like.

Roz is fully straight, but has kissed more than a few girls. She kind of believes in kissing without a sexual intent, except she inevitably gets way jealous when she sees guys she likes doing it, even after talking it over. It’s something she knows she needs to work on.

Ethan grew up watching straight porn. It took him until college to realize he wasn’t picturing himself as the guy, but with the guy. 

Jocelyne has done drag. She owns plenty make up and a couple of nice wigs and dresses. Her career never took off, as she just didn’t have her heart in any of the performative aspects, just the glam femme aesthetic. She does knows a bunch of people in she scene, including one or two big names.

Jocelyne has also had boyfriends. Her family had no idea even of their existence. Hank may have (misled) suspicions.

It takes him a while to start, but Ethan keeps somewhat regular contact with her. He eventually becomes kind of her protegay. Eventually.

Ruth is into men, but does Not Like men. Don’t get me wrong, she is bi, but it would take a very special type of man for her to ever want to express it.

Billie is kind of obnoxiously ignorant on queer issues, including bi issues. She does not notice shit and when she does, she doesn’t correlate it to queerness at all. Journalism would eventually help her get better about it.

1) Amber’s giant ass pull list has existed since she was 12. Before that she was too anxious to set one up, so she’d scurry around collecting them until she had a pile big enough the cashier couldn’t see her face.

2) Ethan got into Transformers through Amber.

3) Joe has only ever succeeded in getting Danny to join him in a ranking game once. In this game they weren’t rating hotness - they were rating the odds the girls would go out with them based on what they knew about them (as well as how popular they were with boys, because it wouldn’t be a Joe style ranking game if hotness weren’t included some how). Danny kept guessing low until Dorothy proved him wrong. ;)

4) Joyce wanted to volunteer with her church to help poor kids in other cities with school, but her parents vetoed the idea. Those ‘rough inner city children’ would corrupt her, of course. Ugh, Carol and Hank, why?

5) Jocelyne used to be the only ‘brother’ who would play Joyce’s games with her as a kid. She justified it saying Joyce needed someone to play with and she didn’t mind 'nobly suffering’ through feminine activities with her. That was when the Browns started giving her more and more trucks and dinosaurs and action figures to play with, when their pastor got worried.Their pastor is not a transphobic dickbag at all and these are not lies. Joining in games like when Joyce wanted to play teacher or house was okay though. 

6) Dina may or may not be considering having Walky’s dinosaur picture framed. He ain’t getting that back.

7) Billie used to do the media reviews for her school newspaper as a sophomore - she wanted to do meatier stories, but in her heart of hearts she had fun. Her reviews were MEAN sometimes.

8) Mike has actually read all of Amber’s fan fiction. He says its for blackmail, yet he’s yet to use anything in them against her.

9) Roz used to rack up BANK babysitting for her various sister’s friends.

10) Grace and Mandy have been dating since grade 10 and decided to move in together this year as dorm mates. They are in it for the long haul. Grace is studying fashion and Mandy is still unsure. She seems like she’d make a good leader though, so maybe something with that?

11) Dorothy struggled for hours over to study pre law or political science and she’s heavily considering a double major. 

12) Ruth has an old collection of children’s stories she used to read to Howie when they were little. She’s PRETTY sure they’re still in her room somewhere at home. Her favourite was Peter Pan - he is such a little CREEP in the book and she loved it.

13) Malaya used to have a crush on her mom’s friend kid Jason once he outgrew the nerd glasses and pimples.
