Thank you a whole bunch ^.^ I'm still new and very niche, and I appreciate the gas so so so much.

If it wasn't for neurodivergence, I sure as heck wouldn't have landed here. I'm super happy not to be alone in my fixations. The Sims has been a long loved time passer, and Fallout 3 was the first Action RPG that I fell so deeply in love with; I beat it twice in a row.

Id honestly just be super excited someone even likes my silly stuff I've made that much ^.^ kinda makes my heart warm tbh 💚🩵

Here is my first part of my Hubris Comics 'n Toys project. I swear it's good enough to share (Fingers crossed on alllllllllllll of my digits).

I wanted there to be an option for the box the Holotape would come in if you bought it at a store. I decided to attempt to make a VHS style case and I hope they send the right vibe. WHEN I stop being a big baby and post more of my Hubris stuff I'm hoping the displays and cases will make a lot more sense; for now they are cool items and the magazine/comic one will work with the other magazines I've released.

SPEAKING OF (other magazines) I once again need to thank @surely-sims for allowing me to use their mesh (because consistency is key) and for being so helpful and inspiring. It really means a lot to feel welcomed in this space.

Also huge thanks to the simlish font creators, and Fallout's artists for making this possible.

I have probably made/converted/etc. more things than I will ever use for a Hubris Comics 'n Toys shop pack.

The problem is narrowing it down and finishing detail type things that I am just hitting the biggest wall on. I feel like it's missing stuff? I feel like i have too much? I feel like some of it needs to be refined again again, but how? I'm still struggling on some parts of the [normal maps, new textures, etc.] BUT I'm seeing progress.

Anyways, I did want to share some work in progress stuff and state that I'd love for some input or guidance or, gosh, I don't even know. There are too many ideas and not enough me.

I'm super happy you like my recolors ^.^ it means alot. Like more then I can actually put to words.

I have considered doing post-war stuff. But I'm currently suuuuuuper deep into a project list that I also have to constantly learn new skills to chip away at. The likelihood of me making it back to dinging up what I made is looking... far, far away.

Good news is my projects will be a creative blend of aspects from both periods, but will be the colorful, simlish, maxis look I've been doing. If only because it's a bit easier for me.

Fallout New Vegas Snowglobes for TS4 (CC Download below)

So I really wanted to make the snowglobes from New Vegas when I first started looking at things to recolor. Then to distract myself from my 'big project (tm)' I decided to try to see if I could make these now that I know enough to be dangerous. And BOOM! It worked.

Because I think the animations being different for the different locations is delightful, these are City Living objects. However, it's worth it to see the spotlights on the strip, and explosions at the test site (plus others). I did experiment with putting the names on them, but it looks alot better like this (trust me).

I have other stuff done, but alas, perfectionism is very real. Also, I'm struggling to find good models to use and I'm not exactly great at sculpting meshes yet but I have a vision I really want to bring to the sims. (Even if my heart breaks constantly about the state of the game/franchise).

I just couldn't fathom the idea of making the RobCo Fun magazines without their holotapes. I mean, they come FREE with every issue. (Sorry-ish)

I had alot of fun learning about random fallout stuff. Like the videogame company for a couple of them is called: Planned Diversion Programming. And and I found and used magazines that didn't actually come out in Fallout 4 or Fallout 76, plus I used the 2nd cover of Red Menace to give it a sequel.

Anywho. It's all just a sneak peak. Meshing is harder then recoloring, even if I'm using models that exist in some form already.

I kind of want to do like a whole Hubris Comic Store. But I'm slow, and new, so it'll be in tiny, bite sized peices.

No, but I'm actually just tired. I really hope I learned as much from this tutorial as I think I did. Ready to finish learning the animation part and then maybe try to edit it into being more my own.

Then back to sims 4 objects with a fresh new set of eyes, tired, sleepy, eyes.

With all the chaos in the world, I'm glad I started finding a new hobby to distract. 🙃

I swear blender is so easy to be confused in, and the subtleties to meshing are endless. Plus the Sims objects are weird, and and I seriously hate uv maps with my whole soul.

The elation I felt when I first saw a 3d object in my view port has been replaced by me being so confused. And then I think I figure it out. Confused again. The ROLLARCOASTER and it's such a simple object.

Probably gotta just follow a tutorial from start to finish and stop over whelming my brain with information.

I managed to make a mesh and get into s4s. Even if it's not perfect. It's a small victory. But jeez, I'm clearly driving the entire fleet of struggle busses. (Sorry for the yellow, I was trying to make it more visible on the blue and just *sigh*)

I was given a reference image from one of the Fallout New Vegas Dead Money slides and I decided to challenge myself to make more from it. Ultimately I ended up with some I don't love and some I absolutely love, and I think its ready to share.

At the bottom is a link to download 5 framed landscape posters. Each poster has 6-7 swatches and represents one area of Fallout New Vegas.

I tried to do 3 that are more busy/graffiti/artsy, and (at least 3) that are more simple.

A lot of the art I used came from the slide shows before you start/when you end each DLC. All of the descriptions come from the slides, even if I left out parts to make it work.

Where I could not use slides, I used concept art and screen shots. That symbol there is from Fallout 76 for the nature park magazines ((?) I actually played the beta for 76 and I refuse to touch it again so I might be wrong about the specifics here))

Last bit about the art. I had found a bunch of other graffiti and I liked these Bomb slides, so the "Mojave" poster are a mildly off theme bonus. But that deathclaw one is just *chef's kiss*

Update [background info]: I have horrible ADHD and these kinds of failures often make me just not try again for years. Buuuut, I'm medicated and in my 30s, so I'm going to beat my damn brain and keep trying when I get time again.

I also have started pulling textures from fallout directly, spent untold hours fighting gimp, and just generally over taught myself this holiday weekend. But I want to keep learning anyways because this has been so rewarding for me. (Just seeing my efforts turn into actual objects is really really cool)

I currently have a few things ready to put up for download. I'm being a bit shy about them, but I'll stop 😅

On a side note: I really wish I knew people in my life who I could bounce ideas off, learn with/from, or even chat with about this stuff. It's such a niche thing and Tumblr is strange to me still. It's so lonely and also not...

But first: PICTURES & STORY TIME

I had made some fun backs for my Live & Love Magazines and I thought they would look really good as wall art. And they totally do... now, finally, after a lot of back and forth. Because without these frames they just look.... too nice? Especially too nice to be taped to a wall. BUT NOW:

Now they look less bad on the wall. 😆Still not perfect, but I am happy with enough of the swatches to share.

The first four swatches are meant to be like promo posters for a few of the casinos. The last four are my personal creations, meant to look like travel posters for the DLC areas in New Vegas. (Dead Money, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, & Honest Hearts). The items are all base game and available at Simfileshare

If there are any issues, please let me know. And I hope you (whoever you are) like them, because I designed a bunch more based on some inspo art that was suggested. (more on that later)

Slightly related; I have a ridiculous amount of random icons, vault boys, and things of that nature. I realized today it's pretty simple to make stickers out of them, even if they don't look suuuper good blown up bigger. Should I invest more time into them and share? (picture of a set I made for learning)

So I had made these and released them as my first ever download not too long ago:

Visually, I have changed nothing. Technically, I changed a few things. Both posters are now Base Game (Yay!) and and I made it so when your sim views them they feel motivated. I did play test that (shudders at unpausing the sims) and it absolutely worked. I also am a dork and added little custom thumbnails.

Many thanks for all the help I've gotten, the encouragement, and what not. It's been very rewarding, mentally, for me to fall down this rabbit hole, and I'm glad the trip has been so fun ^.^

I'm pretty happy them. I only made the dlc areas from New Vegas, but it's mostly because I just love those dlc's so dang much.

Also I found a trove of clean billboard graphics and now I'm distracted from my comic book plans (aka pt 2 of the magazines).... ADHD is super fun like that.

The biggest of thanks to the absolutely incredible and inspiring @surely-sims , not only did she let me use and include her magazine mesh from her Showroom Modern Living set, but she also was super kind and helpful with my questions.

The Sims community has always been so wonderful, and I'm very happy to stop lurking and start seeing what I can do. ^.^ I hope someone gets some joy from these. I know I have.
