Will’s grin is huge and genuine when he opens the door for Yoane.

“Good to see you man!” He pulls Yoane in, yapping a million miles an hour about the game he played, that Yoane was at, that he was in fact on the pitch for, and had seen and been involved in almost everything mentioned.

Will breaks his own monologue about what his coach - specifying his national coach not Eddie - told him about his performance to ask: “why didn’t you want to swap shirts at the stadium?”

Yoane smirks “well I got off the phone with Bruno and he reminded me to check in on the boy…”

Will exploding was not what Yoane had expected. “I told Bruno I’m not a kid! For fucks sake not the player of two years ago…” Will starts pacing around the room throwing his hands up, he’s flipped to Danish which has Yoane looking at the door wondering if any of his teammates are going to interrupt.

Stephon looks down at the print out. He wanted to see it, he wanted proof. And as soon as he is out of sight off the office he rips it into a hundred pieces. It’s made of photograph paper and he has to use his teeth to start shredding.

The taste of the chemicals lingers on his tongue and in his nose. He’s always known he would run out of time. Just not this soon
