I genuinely don’t think there’s any reality looking at canon that Yorkcali could EVER be a healthy relationship. Especially considering how much California canonically tries to push other people’s boundaries, even without Malintent New York would not handle that. New York WOULD lash out and yell at that behavior and California doesn’t take being yelled at very well, or criticism in general. New York is inherently confrontational (so is California) and neither of them see any fault in their ways and have no want to change.

California is argumentative and vindictive at times, he needs attention constantly, to the point he bombards others. He doesn’t care about what he does, he just wants to seem better. California would not listen to New York’s criticisms of him and it’d be a constant argument to win.

If you ship them, that’s fine, I don’t care.

But imo it’s not a healthy relationship in the slightest, given what we’ve seen from both of them
