Yes and no
First of all, therapy doesn't get rid of the attraction that paraphilias. Instead, it aims to help the person cope and come in terms with the fact they are the way they are. If you want them to get fully rid of the attraction, you're advocating for conversion therapy.
Second of all, not all paraphilias are disordered in which case they don't need therapy for it. Here is a good post about that specifically.

No matter if it’s you taking care of him, giving him some ripped pieces of paper to vomit his thoughts out in a makeshift library, resting with you, you two just traversing his realm, or when you run off ahead of him, distracted, or do something reckless.
There’s rare at first moments where he can think clearly, his brain not pressing at his cranium like a shaken up soda with Mentos tossed in it and sealed. Then he can actually choose what things run through his mind. And he most often thinks about you.

He’d agree and follow you everywhere even if he knew it would be dumb or dangerous or something unfamiliar to him, all because of how much you loved it and he loved you. He’d sleep next to you if you were scared or lonely. He’d oh so gladly explain things to you over and over and over and over again no matter how forgetful or distracted or stubborn you are. He’d learn how to cook and bake just to casually make you your favorite foods out of the blue. He’d do just about ANYTHING you wanted, as long as you asked him to.
He adores you. He adores you so much. You are his angel, his angel that soothes the aching pain in his head and emptiness in his life. An angel he can’t wait to meet soon. When he gets better enough to look away from the screen. Very, very soon.

Having a specific fetish is not the same as romanticising YOUR abuse
Sure, abuse is often being romanticised in content intended to appeal to certain kinks (eg sadomasochism, dub-con/non-con, etc). I will not be contesting that. However, it is not the same as romanticising a specific person's abuse.
A piece of media may have an abusive relationship written in a way that sounds eerily similar to yours. This is because abuse often presents itself in similar ways. The author is not specifically targeting you or any other survivor. This goes tenfold if the author isn't intending for their depiction of abuse to be something that gets resolved as a happy ending, or if the depiction is intended for a fetish. Ideally, the author is aware of what they are writing and how others might take it, and they will explicitly warn you beforehand and not try to justify the abuse they write about outside of universe. However, because some forms of abuse ARE normalised to some people, this may not be the case.
However, unless someone is specifically targeting you and your relationship in whatever abuse fetish they're cooking, they are not trying to specifically fetishise you and what you went through. It may feel this way, or you may be disgusted for other reasons. This is valid. That is why the warnings are (supposed to be) there - to tell you that what you read may trigger or disgust you so that you can have the opportunity to find something that won't do that.
There is a simple fact of life you must understand: one man's trauma will be another man's kink and often those men will be the same person. You will find this often, like arachnophobia vs arachnophillia, or choking being both someone's trigger and someone's kink. Some kinks cannot practised safely in real life (like the aforementioned choking), and so fiction will often become a place to explore that kind of stuff. That is (partially) why you will see those sorts of media on the Internet in the first place.
You cannot use your trauma to justify wanting to take down certain content or insinuate that the people who like said content are some special Bad. Disgust and repulsion should not ever fuel morals, else it will be weaponised by people who will use such reasoning to remove much more mundane content.
Your disgust response does not become morally justifiable because you experienced trauma.

Me: Yeah actually I find it somewhat annoying that stories like Jinx are kind of the norm for BL and honestly a lot of romance novels in general. Authors will write a clearly coercive relationship, that will often feature sex scenes with dubious consent or straight up rape, and never address this later on or even put anything in the warnings for the book/comic because even the author themself doesn't think that what they're representing is non-consensual. In fact, they'll bend over backwards to somehow prove that it is even when it is simply not. And because this happens so often, it normalises these ideas (even to younger audiences, because occasionally some of these themes make it to teen fiction too) because the rape culture bias embedded in these books is never brought to light, not even subtlely. At least, if one were to explicitly make a book exploring a non-con/rape fetish, it wouldn't try to skirt around the idea that it's not rape.
The comment section: "I know right? Honestly, I don't know why people are even into this kind of stuff. Don't they know they're sexualising someone else's trauma? These people need help. They need to be put in a mental facility. My friend reads Jinx. I've been telling her to stop and she won't listen. You should dump your friend already. The mischaracterazation of characters from the first game : Boss
I doubt many people will find this but I wanted to share my thoughts in the second game as I've come to realize why I don't really enjoy it as much as I did the first. I would like to start this off by stating this is my personal observations and opinions, if you are a fan of this game and enjoyed it, that's nothing to be ashamed of! You're entitled to your own opinion, and so am I.
Boss is going to be my main target for this little rant because I think he's been done the worst by the second game.
In the second game, Boss is framed as this cruel (perhaps a little pathetic) force that kept the ghosts in the office in an effort to not be alone. He's shown to be withholding the truth from them and lying to them about the truth of ghosts and how evil spirits are formed. Mind you, the secret was that good and evil are subjective and your ghostly form, your shadows, are built on your own guilt and your own perception of good and evil.
Brushing off the fact that I feel like this whole thing is super obvious, Charlie also mentions to Boss that Eugene has become his "puppet" and can't think for himself, make his own decisions, and that he just follows the rules Boss made blindly.
Essentially, Boss is antagonized in the second game, he isn't entirely villainized but he's framed in the wrong for keeping the ghosts stuck with him in the office. I'm not saying that it's not a bad thing to be doing, and had it been in character or made a little more sense to who he is in the first game, then I would have accepted it, but my main problem here is that it doesn't.
Let's see what we're shown of Boss in the first game. First and foremost, he's a sap. In the murderer ending, when Eugene sneaks off (directly disobeying Boss' orders and getting the help of Charlie to kill Jack as an act of justice for the kids and their mother), Boss has known Eugene for three days at most and he cries when he needs to seal the boy away.
One could argue that this relates to him and his whole agenda of keeping the office members close to him so he isn't to be alone, but I feel the need to mention that he drove Eugene away from the office once he realized that extended time with them was tampering with his mental state, making him prefer the underworld over the mortal world. If Boss really wanted to keep people close to him so they wouldn't be able to leave or think for themselves, he would've let Eugene stay. He wouldn't have driven him off and he would've let the boy continue to keep seeing them despite the harm it may cause to him.
In relation to this, if this Boss was the same one in CiU, then in the endings where Eugene dies (as a good spirit) then we wouldn't have the choice to choose between staying with the Underworld Office or passing on. Boss would have framed it as if he had no choice and was meant to stay with them.
Even if we take into consideration that Eugene could only stay in the mortal world if it was with the Underworld Office, we need to take into account that, had it not been for the office, Eugene had no reason to stay. He didn't have family close enough to stay nearby, sure he was friends with Luke but at the time they weren't that close, not close enough for Eugene to consider staying just for him.
This also debunks the "Boss' cute little puppet" comment, because he has given Eugene the freedom to make his own choices. Like in the main ending where Eugene breaks Jack's window. Boss had never told him to do that, hell, he never even told him that he could intervene, Eugene figured it out himself. In the first game, Boss is less of the controlling tyrant and more of a silent guide, only stepping in when absolutely necessary.
Now for his treatment with River. Yes, the hitting of the fan is a little iffy, but I view their dynamic as more of a sibling one and as someone with a sister myself, I get it. I doubt it's doing much harm anyway, they're ghosts.
One could argue that Boss gives Eugene all the freedom required compared to the other ghosts because he's the favorite, but there is a moment when Boss comes to River's defense, that being when Eugene called out for River in the subway and Boss reprimands him for calling her to a place that's sensitive to her. When River mentions calling Eugene newbie, Boss indulges in his own way and opts to call him junior.
In the first game, while we don't see much of the ghosts outside of how they interact around Eugene, it's evident that he cares. (Rivers character is also a little off in the second game too, but I'll delve more into her another time.)
Boss and River are also seen to be close, in the monster ending, once more, River is the one who's brought along to deal with Charlie and Eugene. Of all the people in the office, he chose River (I like to think she's also been with him the longest here). Hayden may have not been an option due to his age, but Joan is fully capable of joining him rather than Boss, and yet he chooses her.
Another inconsistency I would like to point out is his backstory. It doesn't quite make sense compared to what he's said about it in the first game?
In the monster of the underworld ending, Boss says this.
Boss states that he died not caring if he breaks himself if it were for the sake of justice, but in the game? He dies in a means of sacrifice. He puts himself into a portal to the underworld because he was told to do so, not of his own decision. I find it strange and rather anticlimactic for this to be the death of Boss in-game. It just doesn't feel right and it doesn't connect fully to what has been established in the last game.
In short, I believe that Boss (much like the rest of the cast) is mischaracterized in the second game. He's far more softer than he lets on, and I do think his character is drastically different depending on the game.

Having a taboo fetish or kink is not a bad thing, but if someone tells you they are uncomfortable with it and you proceed to project that fetish onto them and their art, you are a POS.
Additionally, you can interact with art related to your fetish without having to feed said fetish. Not every art piece where a character is getting brutally beaten up has to/will be erotic to you.
