>⩊<.ᐟ study tips ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ
Here are some tips I saw that spark something in me. In order for me to have work to be tolerable, I like to have something that is a mindless stimuli in my environment. For me this is like a study vlog or day to life video that is only this gentle type of music. If there is voices, it tends to put me in high alert and also if simply just had music on then studying feels lonely. A big thing for me was when I went to high school is that there is no study groups and back in middle school, I always been in groups and someone always made quizlet games or blooket to play. Seeing people study or simply show parts of their life makes think I am with a friend and conversation is still daunting for me--but with these videos I DONT HAVE TO TALK! okay so this is a big paragraph i ma make smaller ones.
I mostly use pomodoro timers,
25 to do tasks, do work, then have 5 minute break, and then do 15 minute breaks.
I don't use it as strictly, sometimes after 25 minutes are done, I continue to study or do work until I feel like I am at a good stopping point to have a break.
Oh and use your breaks wisely!
Make sure you go use the restroom, refill waters and drinks, and like have a snack, so you don't have to leave the table or workspace.
I found some cute ones I also use on my phone! one is cat on the chair . The art style is really cute, and one day, I will hope to have a kitty with me.
Environment, Lighting, and Tech
Okay, so you just got to find out how you tend to study better in. Its something I struggle with and its also like you got to be consistent with your environment. I ma just do what I do.
✿ I tend to work usually at 4pm-6 pm, this part is where I do homework, I study at different times. I been used to doing this and it greatly helped a lot.
✿ In my work environment, its a small desk, so I can't put much on my table. It does have bag with pens and I decorated it. I also have my schedule and tips on a corkboard above me. I make sure to turn on my warm lights and usually don't spray my room perfume until I am done with work. I separate the stimuli from when I am resting. Usually when I rest, I don't wear headphones and am only using fewer tabs. I don't organize it. I also usually have no left when rests, but I do keep my blanket as I have separation anxiety. I try to lessen the environmental stimuli as I am sensitive to scent and light.
➜Warm lights, fan on, headphones on, clear separation
✿ As I start my work, I organize my tabs into islands or tab group and name it. It feels really nice when I can just close it. Also, the technology I use differ as well. So, for me, I use all of these tech but like phone is usually like fun and instant attention, like alarms. My tablet is where I put notes but, its something where these notes is easily pulled up, and my computer is for longer works and stuff. I normally use paper stationary to take notes, but if I know I just have to copy knowledge from notes then I write them on my tablet and its mostly personal or like for at home study. My notebooks are used in school, where i can only use paper stationary.
Mental Notes
I try to have a calm state when I do work, where I feel like calm and nothingness, not so active so I can focus on work.
I do yoga or read something that is predictable before I do work. I also journal or think of what intentions i have with my work. What I want to accomplish and what i would like to feel, or why I am doing this. For me, I want to be able to finish my studies and go have a job, and be able to live life. I want to have enough money to do the things I want to do. I want to love learning and studying like how I did when I was younger and help people form routines just like how I did for myself.
An app to check in that I use is finch! Personally I was introduce to this by my friend and I use it to check in with them. It has helped me to remind myself to eat, drink, and do work. Even on the days where my body is weak, I tend to use it alot more often. I feel glad to see that I am doing tasks.
Don't compare yourself, Comparison is the killer of joy and honestly has prevented me from bettering myself and also studying and loving the things i love. Give yourself grace, you won't always know it and its frustrating, but you just got to see what you love and what inspires and think about it lots. If something feels a little bit intolerable and you just are suppressing it, remove that stimuli or thing in your life. It will bite you back, but if it studying or reading, and you not having focus always, it just means you need a break or a change. Sometimes for me, my mind gets bored of the video I play in the background, I switch it. Sometimes choices paralyze you, and so I have a selection that I have. Different playlists or queues. Its your journey, make it yours and something that you can do.
Also maybe traditional studying is not for you, but dont be sad, your brain studies in other ways. Have you ever paid attention to something? Like it got your attention, it might have been pretty, or weird, or something. Well, that your brain learning, its bottom up attention, its new. You try to pay closer attention, or maybe you learn how it is. For me, I stare at paintings, the stroke or the color. The texture of it on the canvas. I notice these details. I paid attention to it, and my brain holds it in, I try to add more context to it. I see that there are color and scenes in this painting. How does it contrast or blend together. It's really like that to be honest I think. You might have to find out how you learn or what you like to learn.
I am watching this video as typing this! Bye bye~!
