op’s tweets about jonghyun’s song, “waffle”: in the “waffle” vcr jonghyun was really cute … but i kept thinking about the lyrics and felt deeply moved. it had lyrics like: “him and her are dating, him and that one fought each other. is it alright for you to spread rumors like that? or you shouldn’t.” yeah. i choked up. when i first saw the “waffle” vcr hashtag# kept appearing i thought “hashtag” was the title of the song, but it ended up being called “waffle” with how waffles have a similar shape to (#), and listening to it today “waffle” matches well with “악플”: bad comments since they have the same rhyme. kim jonghyun is really a genius for combining all of this.
As soon as I watched the vcr the lyrics were the first thing that I noticed......I'm not that fluent in korean but I immediately understood that it was a blow against media, flase rumor spreading and defamation of character. I honestly believe that Jonghyun is one of the most talented lyricists in the world! I like to believe that this was made in reaction to Onew's scandal and that he's confirming his position regarding the whole situation. I have mad respect for this man, now more than ever
