I don’t like any of Nesta’s relationships.

Elain and Nesta -  It’s codependent and Elain does not put in much effort❌ 

Feyre and Nesta - for obvious reasons ❌

Her father and Nesta - Although I believe he redeemed himself in the end it was and is toxic. ❌

Her mother and Nesta - we don’t know much about this but Nesta really was willing to starve herself to death after her mother’s death out of spite and pain ❌

Cassian and Nesta - After the way he treated her in acofas , OH HELL NO, not at this point of the story anyway. ❌

Amren and Nesta - After the teaser, Nope.❌

In my opinion, I would like to see Nesta learn self defense and become healthy again. However, I can’t help but feel as though her becoming a fully trained Illyrian warrior would be a complete disservice to her entire character. Nesta has shown that her strength lies in her political abilities and clearly wants nothing to do with being a soldier. She is suffering severe PTSD from the war and throwing her right back into such a war-friendly environment seems cruel and almost counterproductive.

This may be a more controversial opinion, but I would much rather read a story about Nesta finding help outwith the IC and exploring the rest of the courts, learning about her magic and empowering herself through means other than physical capablity. SJM set up great opportunities to explore the rest of the world and I would be a bit disappointed if she never actually takes advantage of them.

I am a huge nessian shipper but I don’t really want Cassian to be the primary factor in Nesta’s recovery. I want Cassian to take a step back and reevaluate his relationship with the IC and am looking forward to getting a more in-depth look into his character.

I don’t really have any expectations for the next book, but we’ve already done this kind of growth with Feyre and I would be so disappointed if the nessian book is just a copy paste situation. I think that Feyre banished Nesta thinking that she would heal the same way that Feyre did (training and being around her potential mate), but I’m hoping that SJM takes that to show that this method doesn’t work for everyone. I love Nesta, but there are so many different ways to show strength and ability.

(THEORY TIME)

So, i was in Twitter ( the person who posted this was @/blcbeak ) and """" apparently""" (obviously) Nesta has the same type of connection with a goddess as Aelin had with Mala, but with Deanna.

Nesta practically does not move while sleeping, has a heavy sleep and always sleeps in the same position.

Cassian can sleep anywhere, anytime, and will probably end up suffocating Nesta with his weight, but he always wakes up with any minor noise (her crying for help).

Cassian really likes to be the little spoon. he lies on Nesta's chest while she strokes his hair and he melts.

Cassian sleeps early and wakes up early, sometimes he tries to wait for Nesta to come to bed, but sleep always catches him first.

Nesta has an unregulated sleep, sometimes she goes to bed at midnight, sometimes 4AM. Usually she spends time reading or playing an RPG.

Cassian always makes breakfast and Nestha always wash the dishes.

Cassian is really good cooking and always tries to teach Nesta something new who even tries but always ends up distracting herself and burning something.

Cassian wakes up in a good mood. He kisses Nesta and goes for a run, come back, takes a shower, makes breakfast and tries to wake up Nestha - the hardest part of his day.

Nesta hates waking up. She ignores all of Cassian's attempts, until he throws himself at her and threatens to crush her.
