Breaking the Cycle

           Really, Vanitas should have been trying harder.          Riku did miss the playful conversations          they would hold together. And he honestly missed their platonic interactions.

     "It's 'cause I'm really not."       And really; he shouldn't have to. It's too much wasted effort            to play along at the moment, and   should   just be done            for him. Vanitas is much too complacent at the moment            to really act like he usually does ( sarcastic and biting ).      ""

     "That depends. Is he gonna bite me?"       Vanitas is by no means afraid of dogs, but being bitten by one             was never a fun   feat   ( depending on what breed it was ).              He's also curious to see gulls   flying   away and an overly             amused pooch.      "Nevermind--- I wanna see anyway."

               ”It does not. Technically speaking, regardless of you whether you dub that the world is your locker room or not does not make it one or anything equivalent to one. You are still here and where it is deemed inappropriate to simply strip of your own free will simply because the weather is hot.” Calling the world his locker room and having Rei accept it as that is like handing him a doughnut and telling him it’s a bagel, illogical and unacceptable. "You are not part of the swim team thus are not allowed to make use of the school pool. It is reserved for our use alone. I would say unless you intend on joining as part of the club then perhaps I may allow you to swim, but seeing as how you are not a student here judging by the lack of uniform, I cannot allow you to swim."

      Clearly Rei is not playing his tune, sour notes that he does not wish to hear            touch eardrums and turn his expression into a disappointed one. Vanitas            isn't about to put his clothes back on and go back to his hotel just because            he isn't ' allowed ' to swim. Who did this kind think he was, anyway? The             principal? "Look buddy; unless you're planning on tying me down with zip            ties, I'm gonna swim. S'not like I'm gonna do anything weird." Solvei is            not a tall man by any stretch-- if anything, he should still look like a high-            schooler. He's sure this could be used to his advantage.      "You should'a kept your voice down--- there's someone coming!"       Nope; and  neither does he wait for Rei to realize that when body and chlorine            water meet, his unruly hair flattening to his head. Perhaps he should get             that haircut the commander was nagging him about.
