Although today's evidence might sound like a circular argument : "Evolution is true, because X evolved from Y", it actually is not.

The piece of evidence that is interesting here, is the "family" relationship between these 2 species. Even if you don't believe in evolution, the idea that you have markers in DNA that point to how you are related or descended from an ethnic group, or more simply, how you aren't related to someone, is something that you probably accept.

Since all living animals have DNA, then it isn't too wild to think that we could do the same thing for them. So when we apply this technique to sheep, we find, after going back in time (or going up far enough in the family tree), that all domestic sheep are actually related (as in very far removed cousins) to the Asiatic Mouflon. This fact becomes even more acceptable, when you consider that this Mouflon species lived near the Caspian region, not too far from the place of birth of agriculture.
