if nurf was paired up with nikki, ered or nerris in eggs benefits, the whole “abusive relationship cliches” subplot they had going on would have immediately been taken seriously and not to be joked about. just imagine nurf giving NIKKI a black eye off-screen, or her giving the bullshit cliche excuses or asking for help, and the reaction of the audience AND the characters. but since it was PRESTON, and he’s a boy, having him be stuck in a physically abusive relationship is joke material, apparently. because they reflected on the traditional roles of women and mothers in said abusive relationships. so it’s funny. good fun. haha. joke.
