Yesterday, movie and television giant Lionsgate made an announcement that would have hardcore Telltale fans jumping for joy.Â
Lionsgate, the studio behind hits like Mad Men have chosen to make 'a significant investment in leading game developer and publisher Telltale Games.' Telltale, as we all know, are the gaming company responsible for episodic storytelling wonders such as the Walking Dead series and the Wolf Among Us. They are currently undertaking the world of Westeros in the Game of Thrones Game, the first episode of which you can read our opinion on here.Â
On Lionsgates' end of the announcement they said:
'The investment will continue the extension of Lionsgate's film and television brands into the game space and will bring Lionsgate's expertise in creating and marketing premium content to Telltale's unique narrative-driven, storytelling approach to gaming. Â The collaboration will also enable the two companies to explore opportunities to co-develop existing and original IP into episodic games and television.'
And on the Telltale side of things they were very excited to announce a 'Super Show' as part of the collaboration, and CEO Kevin Bruner was all too eager to tell EW exactly what a Super Show is all about:
'A âSuper Showâ episode combines one part of interactive playable content with one part of scripted television style content. Both pieces, when combined together, are what make an actual Super Show âepisode.â As weâve been developing the series, weâre using both mediums in concert to deliver our story... Both parts are first class citizens during the writing and design process. Itâs not an interactive series with a show, or a TV show with a game, but a story integrated in a way that only Telltale can do. For us itâs a very natural evolution of the interactive story telling expertise weâve pioneered.'
'Our first Super Show is an original IP weâve developed in collaboration with a world-class creative partner whoâs just as excited about the format as we are. Together weâve created a world where we can really demonstrate the power of this new format and leverage the toolkit it brings to us as storytellers, much like weâve done in the [game-only] space.'
Any Telltale fans out there? Tell us if you're excited about this colab and what you think it means for the gaming company!

There have been plenty of ups and down regarding the highly anticipated Heists for GTAV, as they were initially promised to fans a few months after the games release in 2013. Since then, the online multiplayer mode has been set back multiple times, firstly being postponed to Summer 2014, which then turned into Autumn 2014, but finally settled into early 2015 - only this time with a trailer to assure fans that Rockstar were working hard to live up to expectations.Â
And expectations there are, as in that time plenty of people online have begun to scrutinize and even create their own heists in the online world in their impatience. In the trailer for Heists that rolled around last December, Lester, a side character in the game (and seemingly an important part of the Heists) can be quoted as saying:
 'I know you've been complaining, but you weren't ready.'Â
We love you Rockstar, but you're not that subtle.Â
Finally, the Heists have received a release date, March 10th for Online including Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
In an interview with IGN when the trailer released, GTA Online lead producer and mission designer Imram Sarwar explained the concept of Heists and the complexity that Rockstar faced, shedding some light on why so much time has been needed to bring them to life:
'To be honest, they just turned out to be a lot more difficult than we originally thought... We started working on the concept: a series of multi-tiered missions featuring diverse prep work, a range of different types of gameplay and a big finale, where team coordination and playing your own distinct role could make the difference between success or failure. We also wanted each one to have a unique thread that brought you back in touch with some of the characters from the story.
'As it turns out, creating missions of that complexity for multiple players at the same time was much more difficult than we anticipated and every time we thought we were close, something would send us back to square one. Having already let players know of our intentions with Heists, every setback only increased the pressure to make sure we got them right.
However PC gamers will still have some waiting to do, as Heists for them will be releasing a whole month later on April 14th. Rockstars explanation for this in the announcement blog was:
'...a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC.Â
Now, that whole 'Day One for PC' thing might sound a bit better to PC gamers had the release date not already been pushed back three weeks from the first time the PC launch was announced. Rockstar promised the game on March 24th but are now hoping to launch GTAV for PC and Heists for the platform at the same time on April 14th, and also with a peace gift:
As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online.'
You can check out the full announcement here which includes some sweet screengrabs of the Heists to tide you over until they release.Â
Is this enough for the PC gamers out there? Let us know. And tell us if you;re still excited for Heists after a year and a half of waiting?Â
Crotaâs End on Hard Mode Conquered in Under 30 minutes
Crota may have been defeated by many a Guardian since The Dark Below Expansion was released to Destiny fans last December, but the supposedly mighty god was finally taken down by a six squad team on hard mode less than half an hour.
Bungie bumped up the difficulty on Crotaâs End yesterday, promising fans that this mode would require âexpert Guardiansâ to âdig a little deeperâ in order to get that sweet loot (and of course, ultimate bragging rights). However, the appropriately named âOne and Done Clanâ did just that, in just 27 minutes! Bungie praised the team on Twitter who managed to defeat the Raid with only three deaths to account for, also shouting out the first team to complete it live on Twitch, WRECKnation.
There was however some disappointment amongst fans not yet ready to take on the challenge as they eagerly awaited to find out who would best it first, only to find out that the One and Doneâs had âcheesedâ their way through some sections of the Raid. âCheesingâ for those in the dark refers to players taking shortcuts and utilising bugs in order to get that quicker win, which apparently the One and Done clan just couldnât resist taking advantage of. Destiny players will remember the oh so unfortunate bug in the last section of The Vault of Glass, the first Raid released with Destiny, in which they could trick the final boss Atheon off the edge of the level for an insta-kill. Or an insta-win, depending on your viewpoint.
Crota may not have been so easily fooled, but several parts of his Raid were, however clan WRECKnation didnât see fit to cheese their way through and completed the Raid in a respectable 37 minutes, putting them in the top 3 teams to take on the most difficult Raid in the game and win. One of the members of WRECKnation (after throwing some shade at the One and Done clan on Twitter, ouch.) recorded their attempt and uploaded it to YouTube for other fans to enjoy. His other clan, Clan Lucky Strike, commemorated the win also, adding on some tips and tricks for other Guardians who want to take on the challenge. You can find the advice they gave and the video of the cheese-free victory here, and itâs definitely worth a read if you and your friends want a cheat-free advantage on the Raid.
So what are your thoughts on cheesing? Does it make One and Doneâs attempt any less impressive? And are you going to attempt Crotaâs End on hard mode or was it difficult enough for you already?

There can be no doubt in any Game of Thrones fans mind that the last two episodes of season four rivaled any cinematic epic.Episodes such as those are what cause many fans to cry 'six seasons and a movie!' as book lovers wonder how on Earth HBO are going to fit at least three more books worth of content, into just 10 hour long episodes per season.Â
Well, there might not be anything confirmed as of yet on the movie front, but IMAX is giving fans a chance to have a taste of what a Game of Thrones movie experience may be like, by screening 'The Watchers of the Wall' and 'The Children' back to back in cinemas all over Canada and the USA.
The Game of Thrones Twitter dropped a magnificent announcement trailer onto the web, reminding everyone that the Goliath hit show would be the first ever to grace the screens of IMAX, but that wasn't all. They also promised ticket buyers an exclusive preview of season five immediately after the showing, teasing a short clip of everyones favourite half-man Tyrion Lannister, looking worse for wear after the events of season fours finale.
Tickets are on sale now, and the Game of Thrones: The IMAX Experience is being screened from the 29th January - 5th February. Click here to find more details.Â
Game of Thrones by Telltale Episode 1: Iron From Ice
Following the rampant success of The Walking Dead Season Two, and the smash hit The Wolf Among Us, Telltale couldnât of picked a better franchise to recreate with their own brand of storytelling. Rumours ran high of what Telltale would bring to fans when the announcement was first made back in late 2013, and the biggest surprise to come was the playability of five characters. Five characters, in a Telltale game? Surely that wouldnât work. But as people began to ponder the world of Westeros and the structural integrity of each namesake house, the Starks, the Lannisters, and now the house you must try to keep afloat through its different family members, the Forresters, they began to think that this just might work. And work it did.
Although in the first episode you only get to take the reins of three characters, the formula of jumping between family members works perfectly. Where I worried it may be confusing and difficult to keep up with, the transitions were easy to follow, and the game offered you small insight into the character before you get into the hard choices you must make in their shoes. The first character you play as isnât even a blood relative of the house, but a fiercely loyal Squire called Gared Tuttle. Then youâre handed over to the lady Mira Forrester, handmaiden to Margery Tyrell and therefore as far away from everyone else in her family as possible in Kings Landing. The first trio of characters is rounded off by Ethan Forrester, the third oldest son of the house, who over the course of the episode is faced with increasingly impossible decisions.
Saying much more about your starting three would give too much of the story away, but each of the characters are put into situations where a split second decision will all in House Forrester. I hope the rest of the season plays out this way also, as when making these decisions you truly find yourself contemplating the effect on the rest of the house. When you say something as Mira in Kings Landing, you worry that it might affect your mother back in Ironrath (the home of the Forresterâs in the North). Equally when you play as the Squire Tuttle, you feel you must hold your tongue lest you give your house a bad name.
There really isnât much else I can say story wise, except that it lives up to the world of Game of Thrones and makes you feel like youâre in an episode. Characters that you already know and love/loath interact with the Forresters seamlessly, their reactions to things you say and do arenât amiss, and my only critique of them would be a small one concerning their animation. It took me aback to see Cersei and yet not see her. This isnât Lena Heady sat next to Peter Dinklage in costume and only shown from certain angles so as to hide boom mics and camera crews. They are undoubtedly Cersei and Tyrion Lannister, and itâs jarring to see their faces as characters and not as formidable actors. Of course thereâs no way to rectify this, especially as a Telltale fan whoâs still trying to get over the lack of harsh lines on their faces, but itâs something that took me out of the game for brief moments at a time. I suppose if anything itâs a bit of a backwards compliment; the animation of the well-known characters is so dead on that you have to take a step back and really look at them.
When I finished the game, horrified and feeling like I had made every wrong decision (but apparently, so did everyone else I knew who had played) I was very excited to see my choices up against other players, only to be told that having played on my Xbox One, I had to go online to see them. Begrudgingly, online I went, and at first was told that my results couldnât be shown. A few weeks and a friendâs save data later, I found my results up there, but lamented at the fact that they appeared to be my friendâs choices, and not my own. I wondered if, a) this was the cause of creating a Telltale account when prompted to do so by the game and then immediately playing before verifying it, or/and b) creating a save file on my profile for my friend instead of making them play as a guest.
Ultimately I decided it must have been the lack of verification I did before jumping right in. Seemingly the only way to get my results wouldâve been to boot up the game after waiting 15 or so minutes for it to install, create an account, verify that account most likely on my phone or some other portable device, and then play the game. Thatâs a lot of pretence that isnât made very clear before beginning. This may seem like a small complaint to some people, but one of the most interesting parts of Telltales games is the comparisons between yours and other players decisions, the shock when you think to yourself âwow, only 30% of players did that thing? I thought that was the right thing to do!â especially in a game like Game of Thrones, where morals and strategy are thrown into question all the time. I donât dislike the online form of results, and if you play on PC regardless of a Telltale account you get them there and then, I just wish the process had been better to understand and easy to rectify (going through the last part of my own save did nothing to reboot and receive my own results.)
Overall I'm excited for episode two as well as the rest of the season, and thoroughly impressed that Telltale managed to add new characters whilst recreating the high stakes feel of Westeros. If you make the same choices I did, youâll come away from the first episode feeling as foolish as Ned Stark in his final moments, but eager to get your revenge in the five episodes to follow.
Episode 2, The Lost Lords, is confirmed for some time before the end of January.
If youâve played the game, what did you think? Â And which decisions do you regret the most?
SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 1 UNDER THE CUT.
(These are the results the Telltale website showed to me. My friends choices were there from her save data as I said above, so where I made a different decision I factored myself into the other percentage, and went from there. These are the ONLY results I was given, so theyâre the only ones I can discuss, but hopefully with the next episode the website will show me more choices and without any trouble now that my account is verified.)
My Choices:
Did you volunteer to go to the Wall? â You and 59.1% of players did not volunteer.
Going into this game I felt very confident that I knew what this world was, and that putting your foot down would most likely get you results (taking inspiration from the likes of Cersei and Daenerys). Boy was I wrong, as young so-close-to-being-Ser Gared Tuttle was carted off to the wall regardless of my protesting. In retrospect, this choice that felt like my own, but was merely disguised as such, is probably what led my pliancy with Ramsay Snow later on. And that certainly didnât go well.
Did you ask for Margerys help? â You and 92.7% of playrs asked her for help.
I honestly couldnât understand why I wouldnât. With the Boltons of all houses knocking on my familys front door back in the North, and me, little Mira Forrester stuck in Kings Landing, I felt compelled to do whatever I could. I did, however, make two important choices inside of this decision that I wish Telltale would compare the results for also. First of all, I let my handmaided friends whatsherface stay to hear my plea for help, at the request of the soon to be Queen. Margery trusted her, so I did too, or at least I wanted to appear like I did. Sorry whatserface, but this is Kings Landing, and if it comes down to it I will drop you like I dropped Ben from that Bell Tower (sorry Walking Dead fans). Â
Secondly, there appears to be four different ways of approaching this request. When talking to Margery you can either ask if she has the power to stop Ramsay Snow, ask for Joffreyâs help, ask if she could slow the Boltons or, the option I picked, speak through your mother. My simple case of deduction in 30 seconds was this: Joffrey hates the North, and loyalty doesnât make a difference to that fact (Eddard Stark, anyone?) and Ramsay Snow does as he pleases, as do the Boltons. Although showing Margery the letter your mother wrote does get her attention, and makes her promise to try, I do wonder which of the other options would have worked the same. I imagine subtly questioning the soon to be Queens power might have persuaded her to try had I asked her if she could stop the Boltons or Ramsey Snow. The spiteful audience member inside of me would rather play the game at 5 fps than ask for Joffreyâs help, but again with the right persuading it might have convinced her. It wouldâve been nice to see how other players handled this decision, and if it had the same effect.
Did you steal from Margery? â You and 45.3% of players stole something from Margerys desk.
Do I even need to say it again? This is Kings Landing, and the way the Game of Thrones is played doesnât usually reward the loyal at heart, lest we forget the outcome of season one. There was a key and the Royal Seal of House Tyrell just sitting on a desk in Margeryâs room. No one was around, I couldnât possibly think of what I might need the key for, but sometime in the future Mira Forrester might need to send a letter to the North, with the second most powerful house in the realms seal imprinted on it. Itâs a connection I donât think a lot of people wouldâve made, opting to leave the key and the seal where they were in favour of staying out of trouble. Again, I would've liked to see the stats of not only if people stole something, but what it was they took.Â
Telltales second comic book inspired storytelling game comes to a cinematic close, as Bigby Wolf confronts the Crooked Man for the last time in a last ditch effort to save the corrupt streets of Fabletown.
Thereâs a lot to be expected from the finale of a game series like The Wolf Among Us, so wrapped in noire tainted mystery and intrigue that going into the game you not only expect answers to your questions, but you crave them in a fiery and explosive way, which is one area where Cry Wolf hits the mark undoubtedly. Despite most of the game mechanics just being point-and-click, Telltale, as they always do, manage to make just hitting a few buttons and clicking in the right places feel epic, and fans can definitely get excited about being able to kick-ass in a couple of really grabbing fight sequences.
Without divulging in spoilers a lot of loose ends are very neatly tied up in this episode. From the investigation at hand to lore concerning the not so glamorous world of Fabletown, everything you need to know is revealed when you need to know it and in some cases just moment too late, which makes for palpable drama leaving you wondering if you made the right choices concerning certain characters. This episode is where the decisions you make really count, as persuading characters has never been a more stressful task. Youâll find yourself on the edge of your seat whilst trying to make sure youâre making the right decisions, and youâll love every second of it.
Cry Wolf does unfortunately feel like the shortest episode in the game series so far, which did slightly overshadow the crescendo feeling of the experience as a whole. Despite this, I imagine playing The Wolf Among Us now that every episode has been released wonât give a player the same effect, but as someone who had waited a whole month for the penultimate episode it was a very straightforward play-through, not going slowly from one scene to the next as previous episodes had so cleverly executed.
Also there are a plethora of characters in Fabletown who you interact with, and one of the major contrasts that could be drawn between this game, and Telltales other comic book inspired triumph The Walking Dead is that the pop-ups that tell you how a character reacts to what you say or do in terms of emotion, just aren't as up to scratch in this game than The Walking Dead. Characters constantly appreciate your actions but you never get a gauge on how theyâre actually feeling, whereas the Walking Dead lets you know when a character was reassured, felt better, or was upset based off of what you chose to say to them. I suppose this can be chalked up to the investigation side of the game, as there are a couple of scenes in episodes one and two where these pop-ups let you know when you've managed to connect the evidence or catch a character out in a lie. This is an understandable mechanic, but in The Wolf Among Us: Season 2, I would like to see both how I have affected a characters emotions, and how I am doing in my investigation.
Overall, The Wolf Among Us Season One holds a lot of promise and is a simply outstanding piece of work. The style is gorgeous, the drama intriguing, and the characters engaging. A must buy for Telltale, comic book, and noire fans everywhere.Â
Did you enjoy the last episode of The Wolf Among Us? What did you think of Season One?
RTX, the annual Austin convention run by popular comedy gaming website Rooster Teeth, officially kicked off today, and has already begun to tease the fans of one of its popular animated shows, RWBY.
Shortly after an informative panel on the anime web series, the trailer for the highly anticipated second volume hit Rooster Teeths YouTube channel in a blaze of glory.
The trailer teases the return of many fan favourite characters, and introduces a plethora of new ones, the voices of whom were not confirmed by the showâs writers Miles Luna and Kerry Shawcross, or the showâs creator Monty Oum at the sold out convention.
It would seem all is not well following the explosive finale of Volume One, and the Kingdom of Vale harbours more evil than Ruby Rose and the gang seem to think they are capable of dealing with. The trailer teases details of an all-out war, leaving certain characters wondering; are our young plucky heroes able to take on those who would see the once peaceful Kingdom of Vale burn to the ground?
Fans may be biased, but they wonât have to wait for long to find their answer, as RWBY: Volume Two has its online premiere in just less than 3 weeksâ time, on July 24th.
The Game is On - Sherlock to Have One Off Special Followed by Series 4
After some tantalising teasers across the Twitters of Sherlock showrunner Mark Gatiss and the official BBC One Twitter, it has officially been announced that the popular detective series Sherlock will be returning for a one off special sometime in 2015, with the highly anticipated fourth series to commence filming later on in the year.
Last night BBC One told fans of the show to check back for details at 2:21pm (see what they did there?) and revealed that the fourth series would not only be returning to screens earlier than hoped, but promising âthe most shocking and surprising series of Sherlock yet.â
As excited as Sherlock fans are that their hiatus will now be shorter than that of the wait between series two and three, (two whole years) did the promise of a one off special really come as a surprise to any of them?
Martin Freeman, the shows very own John Watson told The Telegraph a few days ago that he was under the impression he and Sherlock himself, Benedict Cumberbatch would be returning for a Christmas special;
âI think that might be for next Christmas. A Christmas special. Thatâs what I understand, Iâm speaking off-message here; if this was New Labour Iâd get fired.â
Itâs a wonder how both Freeman and Cumberbatchâs schedules managed to accommodate the hit BBC One show, as Freeman is set to take the Trafalgar Studios stage this month in a rendition of Richard III whilst also filming scenes for the last Hobbit film: The Battle of the Five Armies. Cumberbatch is also having a hand in playing Richard III, this time for a TV Drama on BBC 2, and is also preparing to take on Hamlet at the Barbican in London.
So far fans have been overwhelmingly positive in the face of new information, and have been encouraged by the BBC One twitter to don their deerstalkers in preparation.

Mark Gatiss, showrunner and writer of the popular BBC One series Sherlock, has begun to seemingly mess with the ever loyal Sherlock fans.
A couple of hours ago Gatissâs profile picture on his Twitter account mysteriously vanished, replaced with nothing but blackness, along with a truly mysterious tweetâŚ
An hour later held even more baffling tweets, until the BBC One twitter sent Sherlock fans into a tizzy.
Their profile too changed, after utilising Twitters new gif sharing abilities, to eerily tweet out the below tweet, along with a gif of the shocking season 3 finale ending. Â
Back in January was the end of a two year hiatus for the Sherlockians as season three premiered on News Years Day. With a new profile picture of the dastardly Sherlock villain Moriarty and a quick name change to â#221backâ on the BBC One Twitter page, is this eluding to a shorter wait for the Sherlock fans as to the highly anticipated fourth season?
Keep your eyes peeled on Mark Gatissâs Twitter, BBC Oneâs twitter, and the official Nerdy News Twitter, as it seems an east wind is comingâŚÂ
Rest easy, Community fans, as #sixseasonsandamovie is finally back on track.
The cult comedy that was axed in May by NBC has officially been picked back up again for a sixth season, which will be comprised of 13 episodes and is expected to be the shows final run.
The show was renewed by Yahoo after Sonyâs talks with other online video companies such as Hulu fell through, but all was not lost it seemed, as star of the hit sitcom Joel McHale said;
ââThe reports of our cancelation have been greatly exaggerated,â - Mark Twain (The other version of this quote has been wrong for years). #SixSeasonsAndaMovie is real.Â
Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest fucking fans in the history of the human race. It's the internet. We can swear now.â
Thereâs no release date as of yet for the showâs final run, but showrunner Dan Harmon added;
âI am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo.
I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!â
No word yet on the movie fans so desperately want, but at Paleyfest back in March, Harmon seemed hopeful and up to the task;
âFollowing the vibe Iâm getting from everyone, it seems like the paintball direction might be the way to go. The actors â they want to do something action-oriented.
Our TV show is not that popular, if we make a movie, we really have to reinvent the wheel in terms of why someone would watch a movie. My ultimate goal would be for people to watch the movie and to say, âIâm one of the 249 billion Americans that have never heard of this show, but holy crap, this movie is crazy and really funny and awesome.ââ
Were you heartbroken when Community got the axe in May? Excited for the penultimate season?
Always have launched a powerful new campaign to fight back against societies ideals as to what it means to be a girl.
On the sanitary brands official YouTube channel, a video entitled âAlways #LikeAGirlâ hit the web this past Thursday, and features a handful of women and men from all ages responding to questions such as âshow me how to run like a girlâ, and âshow me how to fight like a girlâ.
Unsurprisingly, many of the adults and even a young boy begin to flail and whirlwind their limbs in what could stereotypically be called a girl-like fashion, but when itâs the younger girls turn to answer the same questions, they respond differently, they respond by just running, and fighting, simple as that.
The description of the video reads;
'Using #LikeAGirl as an insult is a hard knock against any adolescent girl. And since the rest of puberty's really no picnic either, it's easy to see what a huge impact it can have on a girl's self-confidence.Â
We're kicking off an epic battle to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond, and making a start by showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.'
Lauren Greenfield, filmmaker and director of the #LikeAGirl video also added;
'In my work as a documentarian, I have witnessed the confidence crisis among girls and the negative impact of stereotypes first-hand.
When the words 'like a girl' are used to mean something bad, it is profoundly disempowering. I am proud to partner with Always to shed light on how this simple phrase can have a significant and long-lasting impact on girls and women. I am excited to be a part of the movement to redefine 'like a girl' into a positive affirmation.'
Always are encouraging young girls and women to ârewrite the rulesâ, by tweeting them using the hashtag #LikeAGirl, and even taking to other social media websites such as vine and twitter, to show the world what else they do âlike a girlâ, with some favourites being showcased on the website. Do yourself a favour, and check out the video above, and go to http://www.always.com/en-us/likeagirl.aspx to get involved.
RoosterTeeth Film Project 'Lazer Team' Smashes IndieGoGo Goal in Half a Day
Within eleven hours of RoosterTeeth.com/LazerTeam going live for the entire internet to see, the sci-fi comedy movie has officially received all of its funds to make the comedy gaming channels first full length feature movie.
The IndieGoGo page for âLazer Teamâ asked of fans $650,000 to make the movie a reality, and at 4:44am UTC, in the companyâs home town of Austin, Texas, that goal was smashed, and continues to grow. At the time of writing, fans have contributed a massive $715,591 towards the project, and the number just keeps getting higher. Founder and Creative Director of RoosterTeeth Burnie Burns said on RoosterTeeth.com:
âItâs 5:00 in the morning here and we just hit our goal on IndieGoGo. I canât put into words how I feel right now. Your continued support of our work makes me so grateful. Itâs 5am. I canât even think straight. Itâs such a joy to be able to make content for all of you. We are going to make an amazing movie for you. THANK YOU!â
Burns also announced that upon meeting their goal, even more perks have been added for existing backers, and to sweeten the pot for those still making up their minds;
âIn celebration we will be adding a digital PDF of the shooting script to all the digital downloads of the movie.â
And to entice fans even more to make the decision to support the project, Burns added;
âOur next stretch goal will be at $750,000. If we hit that goal, we will produce six new episodes of the popular retired show âGame Timeâ for RoosterTeeth.com and our letâs play channel.â
Game Time was a series of videos uploaded to the âLetâs Playâ channel on YouTube in 2013, where Burnie Burns would play games such as Journey, Limbo, Halo 4 and Fez with other RoosterTeeth employees. Featured on Letâs Play, a channel most commonly controlled by the popular Achievement Hunter branch of RoosterTeeth, these videos would last from an hour to an hour and a half, and if the IndieGoGo page reaches itâs next âstretch markâ, Burns promises even more episodes, this time, featuring people working on, or around, Lazer Team.
This should be a promising aspect to people excited to learn more about the movie, as what else could two people as excited to make a project, as the fans are to watch it, talk about for an hour and a half whilst playing a video game?
Thereâs about 29 days left to become a backer of the project, and to all of the RoosterTeeth fans who cried âsomeone give me $3,000 so that I can spend an evening with Michael Jones, creator of the millions-of-views- by-the-episode series Rage Quit!â well, you may want to either sets your sights lower or higher, depending on the depth of your pocket, as that perk, along with many of the more expensive ones have already been claimed. Perks such as the chance to appear on the award winning RoosterTeeth Podcast, which was snatched up for $5,000, and the opportunity to appear in Red vs Blue, the companyâs biggest success and longest running internet series ever, for the same price, are both gone.
Understandably for a project so early in it's conception, thereâs no release date for the movie yet, but Burns also promised even more perks to be added when each of the websites stretch goals are met, goals that will be announced once they reach the existing ones.
Have you backed the project? Are you excited for Lazer Team?
⌠and we need your help! You guys have supported us since day one, and we wouldnât be here without you. Itâs always been a huge dream for us to be able to make a feature-length film, and our chance is here!

The popular comedy, gaming, and news channel RoosterTeeth have announced that they are currently producing their first feature length film.
The IndieGoGo page for âLazer Teamâ went up not so long ago, and promises a comedy adventure set 40 years after man first received mysterious alien contact. The current synopsis on the page reads:
'In the late 1970's, the Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence project received a one time signal from outer space. It looked exactly as theorists thought a communication from an alien civilization would â unfortunately it has never been decoded. Or so we were told. Unbeknownst to the general public the signal was translated and told us two things:
1. We are not alone.
2. The galaxy is a dangerous place.'
A video went up with the page, as well as on the RoosterTeeth YouTube channel, where internet personality, founder, and creative director of RoosterTeeth Burnie Burns said:
âAfter eleven years of making content for the internet, RoosterTeeth is ready to take the big next step forward in its journey, and weâre asking for your help to make that happen.
'Over the course of the next few months we're going to be producing out first ever, live action feature length comedy, called Lazer Team.
'It's a sci-fi comedy, and you might be asking yourself, Rooster Teeth, why are you guys making a movie, what's different, what's changed?
'But the truth is, we've always been movie guys, when I first met Matt Hullum, my production partner (co-founder and CEO of RoosterTeeth) back in college, it was to make a movie. That was the first step in the journey which became RoosterTeeth, which hopefully if you're watching this video, you know and love.'
It would appear itâs been a long time coming for the seven million subscribers strong comedy channel, responsible for the longest running internet series ever, Red vs Blue. Inspired by the popular game series Halo and conceived back in 2003, the action comedy series was created back when the now mammoth company had but a few in their employment, and has since gone on to rake in billions of views across the globe.
Since then RoosterTeeth have all but taken over the internet, creating even more popular shows and hiring a wealth of talent to bring to the world anime inspired, girls-wielding-dual-weapons-and-kicking-ass centric 'RWBY', and the scientific (to put it generously) show âImmersionâ that asks whether the unquestionable logic of many beloved games such as Mario Kart and PAC MAN could indeed be feasible in real life.
RoosterTeethâs own news channel The Know added when the website went up:
âInvolving the fans in RoosterTeeth productions is kind of our thing, and itâs no different just because this is a feature length project. We want to get you guys involved!
'So, instead of partnering with a big Hollywood company or studio, we're turning to IndieGoGo with a ton of perks for our community backers.'
Perks to backers who pledge between $5 and $250 promise exclusive Lazer Team merchandise, whilst perks that go all the way up to $10,000 dollars in price give fans prestigious experiences such as lending their voices to Red vs Blue, visiting the Achievement Hunter offices, (another by-product of RoosterTeeth and arguably the most successful behind Red vs Blue) even offering up the chance to be a guest on the award winning RoosterTeeth Podcast.
The IndieGoGo campaign is running until the 6th of July, and fans who have deep enough pockets may want to act fast, as expensive perks such as VIP tickets to the companyâs yearly convention RTX - at the cost of $500 - are already sold out.
Burns concluded the IndieGoGo page video by thanking the ever loyal and dedicated RoosterTeeth fans;
âAlright, well, I just want to say that we would not even be in this position to take this next step if it wasnât for all your support over the years.
'We can't thank you enough for that, hopefully you want to be a part of this next stage of our journey as we go forward, thanks for watching the video, hope you support Lazer Team.'
