A few months ago people were talking trash about those who said that playing the weird route made you a bad person which is true but it left me confused on one sense.

I never did the genocide route, as a child I told myself I would never do it if I ever got to play but, in said playthrough i did kill the first froggit, when playing DR I never did the weird route despite what my friends told me, never wanted to, was never too into being evil in games.

What I'm trying to get at is, what exactly am I suppose to feel for ralsei, he is not real in a real context, he is not real in a game context either, but his feelings do matter. DR often plays with the idea of "levels of reality", A darkner can only exist with the help of a lightner, and a lightner can only exist with the help of a real being, that means US. Lightners due to the fact that they're constructs made by the dev team their lives, their thoughts and feelings will always be "lesser". You're not a bad person for making Noelle suffer, it's a game, and you aren't really a good person for helping them.

Ralsei said himself his feelings didn't matter but the plot obviously points towards that they do, however, do they matter as much as a lightner? Susie's feelings and life will never be as important as ours. I need those chapters because I need an answer honestly. What chooses the fact that I can feel empathy for anything virtual? I never felt bad bashing a Legionary's head in New Vegas, I even felt a lot of fun murdering key targets in Dishonored.

Susie's life will basically be living hell unless she forgets darkners even feel, almost like an extreme and horrid for of animism.

Honestly one headcanon that I like since I only ever started playing on 2, is that my guardian lost their memory and the only thing they remember is what happens in 2 and the cutscenes.

The thing about Ena playlists is that besides the loss of a lot of them the difference between pre and post bbq is so outstanding

Pre bbq was very pandemic, weird kid, fnf, gretel, save face by wilbur soot, mother mother, lesley gore even, post bbq is so cynical reflecting the game and its themes though it resembles the previous phase a little, like the nose of your great grandpa

This could be because a lot of ENA fans were teens and while Ena is ageless she is wearing a school uniform as well as having a personality we could associate with the youth, while BBQ only wears a uniform

Dream BBQ's ENA's emotions are more "adult" (it is expected adults only show either calmness or anger), as well as her plots rather than being recreational activities (a cultural event, a party or a prank, even a therapy session since those are stigmatized) BBQ is a job, ENA never has any "fun" and even loathes it

I'm serious when I say we gotta give Temmie Chang half the credit for Making Undertale (and Deltarune)

She's got an animation degree, I know the art in Undertale gets underappreciated sometimes because it's trying to evoke an older simpler style, but the art in Undertale is legit amazing and without Temmie, none of Toby's ideas would have been able to be realized (without finding some other artist and animator)

She deserves more flowers for being the one who made the vast majority of the art assets for an entire game that is one of the most commonly cited games as an influence on others (her style is so beloved and recognizeable, there's a fully complete Undertale fangame emulating it)

Remembered how homophobia was a thing in the undertale fandom back when it came out and I wonder if there ever was an AU where mettaton isn't trans or gnc.
