I offhandedly said in a video the other day that YouTubers only do clickbait because they want to feed their families, and I got multiple people in the comments saying things like "no, YouTubers only do clickbait because they're rich and greedy", with one person pointing to MrBeast as an example, and like. so, okay. yeah, some YouTubers are rich and greedy. But... if you can believe it, there are some YouTubers who are smaller than MrBeast, y'know?
like, I made this comparison a couple times in the comments, but basically what happened here is that I said, like, "authors deserve to get paid more", and people replied by being like "um actually I think that Stephen King is PLENTY rich enough". like yeah? think there might be a little grey area there?
Back when i was like. 9 i watched a cuck porn video And i didnt quite understand the concept of what it was But i remember being so sad about how the woman was talking to her husband while she was fucking this other guy. and then she broke the couch and she said "uh oh sweetie we broke your couch.." all condescendingly And then he said "i LOVED that couch.😕" and it made me so upset i cried
Why😭is😭this😭getting😭so😭many😭notes😭
Today the kids wanted to play Takeaway. I don’t mind playing Takeaway, because I can usually do something else with my hands. My role is to place an order on my pretend phone, and receive it from the delivery driver. I’m quite good at Takeaway.
Bear, aged 8, was the leader of this particularly chaotic takeaway. I overheard them pretending to phone another customer - customer order 125 - and explaining that their delivery would be delayed by approximately fifteen minutes due to a “rockslide.”
“Hey, wait a minute, what was that?” I asked.
“Are you order number 125?”
“No, I’m order number 165.”
Bear said severely, “we don’t give information about other people’s orders.”
“That’s very professional,” I said, “but what was that about a rockslide?”
Bear said, “that’s not your order.”
“Sorry,” i said, justly chastened. “Was it a big rockslide? Is it on the news?”
“If you need information about your order, you will get it.”
My pretend phone then pretend rang, so I had to answer it. It was the takeaway.
“Number 165? Your order will be delayed by five minutes.”
“Oh,” I said, “why?”
“Because that’s the time it takes us answering all your stupid questions.”
whenever the conversation about difficulty and accessibility in games come up i want to slam my head into a wall because noone thats speaking has anything more than a surface level understanding of what "difficulty" even is
your game should have accessibility options, but if your only accessibility options are "turn off central game mechanics" then you have made shit accessibility options.
you know what accessibility option doesnt completely fucking butcher your game while allowing almost everyone to play it? an option that is not available in 99.99% of all games ever made? easy:
bonus points: if you put a game speed slider in your game you can also allow Absolute Fucking Freaks to turn it higher than 100%

People love to defend TMA/TME as a meaningful category by comparing it to BIPOC, which on the surface makes sense. BIPOC and TMA are both used to categorize minority groups that are at incredible risk of violence, and BIPOC in particular is widely accepted among any activist less racist than like. Ben Shapiro.
The only problem is the TME part. Because nonBIPOC isn't really a thing, is it? Because while black and indigenous people are grouped together by their at-risk status, no such commonality exists between everyone who isn't black or indigenous.
White people and arab people have the shared experience of not being black or indigenous, but not much else. There's no common interest or large-scale similarity that binds white people with arab people, or latino people, or any other racial minority. At best, any attempt to pretend they're one and the same is dumb as bricks, and at worst is a transparent attempt to paint a racial minority you don't like as being part of the oppressor class, and thus an acceptable target to punch "up" at.
But no, obviously TME is a very important term that definitely describes a coherent group of people. And also, that person posting about how nonBIPOCs are all illegal immigrants and terrorists and should all be killed is just complaining about their oppressors! They're literally punching up, or do you think white people are oppressed or something?
please wear sunscreen!!! I've seen "fuck the beauty industrial complex" posts about complicated skincare regimens and am 100% with them except sometimes they mention sunscreen and no. no. absolutely not. sunscreen is a wonderful supportive friend who wants to keep you safe, and you should let her do it. throw out all your other cosmetics and skincare products if you want, but keep your sunscreen. and if you're not wearing sunscreen, start wearing it!!!! this is not about terror of aging, this is not about every tiny imperfection our fucked-up culture has made you feel insecure about, this is about protecting yourself from skin cancer. wear the damn sunscreen.
did you know you can rename everything on your pc

Imagine being so braindead that you think the UK being one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world is a good thing 🤡
wtf are you talking about, they didn't "deplete" the nature of their country, they cultivated their wilderness over centuries into some of the most idyllic pastoral landscapes in the entire world. And they did such a good job of it that the phrase "English countryside" is now synonymous with beauty and serenity and peacefulness. They didn't destroy their country's nature, they became its caretaker, they're right to be proud of it. All you're doing is pretending that the only kind of nature that should count is whatever is completely untouched by human hands.
The UK is literally ranked in the bottom 10% of most nature-depleted countries in the world. The 2023 State of Nature report shows just how dire the situation is. A third of UK bird species have declined since the 1990s, 97% of the UK's wildflower meadows have been lost since the 1930s, raw sewage is constantly being pumped into our rivers and seas with agricultural slurry also causing massive damage to rivers, three quarters of Britain's hedgehogs have been lost in the past 20 years and UK butterfly numbers are at their lowest ever, a sign of impending ecosystem collapse. Plus people in Britain are the most disconnected from nature in Europe.
Not to mention over populated deer destroying what little is left due to a lack of predators, 60 million non-native birds released for sport shooting every year, plus huge amounts of wildlife crime, including large numbers of birds of prey being shot/poisoned.
There is nothing beautiful about a sterile, ecologically damaged landscape that contains nothing but sheep and deer. Don't comment on something you clearly know nothing about. I live in England. I can see first hand just how dire the situation is.
REBLOG TO ADD WE ARE NOW IN THE
BOTTOM 5%.

an interesting thing about clothing in late medieval and early modern europe is that, while lower class people generally did wear brightly colored clothing instead of muddy brown clothes, there were very distinct differences in the color of clothing people of different classes wore. clothing was done with all natural dyes, of course, but they were either dyed locally with cheap and easily accessible ingredients, or they were dyed in holland, italy, the ottoman empire, or even further afield using a jealously guarded secret combination of difficult-to-access ingredients, including (crucially) better-quality fixatives. this means that not only did expensive imported fabrics maintain a dark, rich tone much longer than a locally dyed one, which would get a washed out look after a couple of years, but there were also certain colors that a working class farmer literally couldn’t afford to wear, and even though the difference between a cheap local lincoln green and an expensive imported popingay green might seem subtle to us people then seem to have been very sensitive to those differences. that’s also why the colors puritans tended to wear seem uncharacteristically bright to our modern eye—black was such a rich and expensive color that it would be inappropriate to wear to anything other than a portrait sitting, but the colors orange and kendall green were deeply humble in their origins

A horse walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Hey, why the long face?"
The horse says, "I think I'm about to be homeless." The bartender, who now feels a little bad about the joke, says, "Oh, man, that sucks. What's going on?" The horse says, "It's the job market. It doesn't matter how good I am at SEO optimization. No one wants to hire a horse. The moment they look at my resumé and see the name 'Brushstroke', into the trash it goes." The bartender says, "Really? I had no idea." The horse says, "And I know what you're thinking. You're thinking why don't I just apply for horse jobs instead? Well, for the first few months I wouldn't. It was a matter of principle. I didn't become the first in my tailine to get a degree in computer science just to end up pulling a cart. But lately, I've given in. Because my saving's are running out, and my kids can tell that something's wrong. So now I'm doing interviews to let drunk tourists ride me, and the pay is peanuts, and you know what? I'm still not getting any offers! It's all going to younger horses!" The bartender says, "That must feel awful." The horse says, "You can't imagine! It's eating me up! People are trying to help, but they can't. They can only offer a couch for a few weeks or only a place for me, not for my family. It's like, every morning I have to come home to my husband and my two kids and tell them I'm not good enough to support them! I'm already having to juggle debt to handle his medical expenses, and then... then there's just the shame of it. I was sired for this! I was bred to do it! And I can't! I just can't pull it off!" The bartender says, "Wow. I don't know what to say." "I know," the horse says. "I just need to find a place that's stable."
