My apartment complex has this service where a company comes to pick up recycling from our doors 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). If you don't "recycle" appropriately, they'll leave a note at your door with a box checked on a pre-made list of things people could possibly do wrong.

I once got a note back saying not to recycle cardboard egg cartons. Sure, ok, whatever.

Anyway.

Last Monday I had put out my bag of recyclables, they collected it, but they did not leave a replacement liner for my bin. I thought, whatever, I'll just put the bin out next time.

So I did.

On Wednesday I just set the bin outside my door, filled with recyclables, thinking they would put it in a liner themselves, because they have so many of them.

No. Instead, they left a liner and a note on my door telling me to use a liner, and left the recyclables in my bin.

So with much irritation I dumped the recyclables into the liner and left it outside. And then I wrote on the note, next to the annoying checked item:

"You didn't leave me a liner last time..."

And then I placed this note right on that bag of recyclables outside my door.

Friday rolled around, and they took the bag.
