uuuhhh he's also a gossip master look at him in the slumber party episode he loves drama and in candace disconnected when phineas leaves he tries to talk about him like he loves stirring the pot

i love norm and him having a whole 22 minutes to himself for an episode made me SOOOO excited, plus if anyone would remember one line from the 2nd dimension movie about vending machines, it's gonna be me and my constant rewatching of it. but it just....didn't deliver..

obviously before the qualms i have to give praise.

norm's song was fantastic,i love his voice in this because they finally found out the voice filter and it just fits in really well with the other norm songs i love like weaponry or real boy. which are coincidentally his only other songsi believe, don't quote me on this. also the bit of phineas getting mad in the 22 minute specials (which i will call big episodes for clarity because it's not a 2 parter it's a bigger episode) being kept is very funny. the part with the kids in the back of candace's car was also very sweet, they are little babies and i want to squish them. and even though i have some feelings abt the villain i do think her song isn't half bad and the visuals for it are very striking. plus more norm screen time YAAAYYY and love handel on screen for a few seconds. and also baljeet throwing popcorn into buford's mouth. love that. very silly.

qualm 0.5*

bring back norms blue eyes i BEG, it was so jarring to see his eyes be black please bring his blue eyes back, and to balance it out make buford's eyes back to brown cause there's too much blue, but norm needs the blue eyes. maybe this is a nitpick but please.....blue eyes.... or MAYBE he just needs eye shines like he looks a little too soulless for my tastes

qualm 1:

it seems like it's trying to mirror night of the living and pharmacists, which isn't a bad idea because night of the living pharmacists is a great 2 parter (my favourite) and the premise is just a zombie apocalypse spoof, but everything was incredibly rushed and none of the jokes really got me like notlf did. the passion isn't there for it and i really wished they had made vendpocalypse a 2 parter just LIKE notlf because you could've fleshed out the characters a lot more with it.

qualm 2:

vending machine prime (is it alpha or prime? do not remember..) feels too.....self insert-y. she looks cunty asf, i cannot lie, but she immediately tries to get her freak on with norm as soon as she is shown on screen. plus she monologues ON and ON and ON near the end and at that point i was so done with her. even EVIL CARL was more entertaining and silly than her. i hate to hate a woman but damn that robot woman was not given time to be fully integrated... she just shows up, is gone for half the episode because norm is evil now, and then she shows up for norm to die?? what the fuck?? why are you here??

qualm 3:

hey guys did you remember it's a MUSICAL?? i sure as fuck didn't cause it only had like 3 songs. cutting out a candace song from a so-called musical episode is a low blow, and it was replaced by, what? the most basic phineas and ferb song? it sounds like if robot riot and serious fun combined and i mean...it's not bad it's just not memorable for an episode labeled as a musical. i can remember every song from rollercoaster the musical, every song from it i have gotten stuck in my head but this has no songs pretty much at all, memorable or otherwise. maybe the vending machine song but even that is barely cutting it cause of meghan trainor's amazing singing voice plus mentioned visuals above.

qualm 4:

give phineas some good lines, stop giving them to buford.

qualm 5:

there is SO MUCH RETCONNING!! the viewer has to go through so many hoops to assume different things, like maybe norm was in progress before he was unveiled in greece lightning, and just MAYBE vanessa wasn't around before perry the platypus was his nemesis, so he made norm out of loneliness etc. etc. but for us to make assumptions because there is a complete rewrite of norm's character that doesn't line up with already established canon, that makes it a bad rewrite and a bad episode. period. it also makes doofenshmirtz look like such an asshole for loving norm then suddenly abandoning him for his daughter and the air fryer.

also, commenting on the animation would be redundant cause everyone's already made good points and it's been said so many times so im not writing about it, maybe i will but not in this rant! haha!

HUGE continuity error because the whole point of "finding mary macguffin" was that doof DIDNT have the doll, and he spent a lot of his time searching for it because it would make vanessa happy and he would never sacrifice that.

the universe in which phineas and ferb (and others) inhabits also coincides with spiderman, but is this just a one time thing?

possibilites:

-every universe has a phineas and ferb, if it has a spider-man or vice versa, and miles morales has his own pair of phineas and ferb like siblings as well as every other....spider-person?? (spider-homunculus maybe, due to the dinosaur existing, not a person..)

-this universe is the only one that has both spider-man and phineas and ferb, and the other universes have no spider-man or no phineas and ferb cause you can't eat your cake and have it too

-this has been de-canonized and i'm so stupid probably****** (most probable answer)
