Dom Claude Frollo is my favorite character from the book. I don't justify his actions, but I understand him incredibly deeply, I kin him, and I believe he had so much good potential if someone had just tried to support him.

Hey guys, I’ve finally translated my fanfic based on the 1960s Addams Family TV series into English, so you can now read it on AO3 via this link. I spent a long time translating it, trying hard to preserve my original style.

I’ll admit, my idea might not be unusual, but it’s certainly bold. At the very least, I’ve only ever found fics where Lurch is paired with an OFC or one where Morticia and Gomez include him in a threesome. I haven’t come across any dedicated solely to Lurch/Morticia until now.

Here’s what makes my fic interesting to me:

Cheating is a taboo subject for me in real life; it’s a terrible thing. In this universe, it’s practically unthinkable because Gomez and Morticia are the definition of a perfect couple in canon.

It might seem like I’m romanticizing infidelity. And yes, parts of the story are romantic. But Morticia and Lurch face the consequences. They’re clearly miserable after leaving the mansion.

I’m not trying to justify anyone, just exploring the perspective of the betrayers.

The fic isn’t about sex (you won’t find explicit scenes, though it’s implied). Instead, it’s a deep dive into the characters’ inner turmoil and psychology, mostly like from Lurch’s POV. But this way Morticia is more visible from the side.

I’ve woven in as many canon details as possible:

Lurch and Morticia’s attraction stems from the episode "Lurch Learns to Dance", where they share a very heated tango at a ball.

In canon, Morticia does sometimes seem subtly annoyed when Gomez smothers her with kisses. I took these traits and amplified them slightly.

I also incorporated backstory elements from "Morticia’s Romance" (their first meeting).

The atmosphere of a house on a cold shore with perpetually cloudy weather was inspired by the film "Womb" (starring Eva Green and Matt Smith), a cloning drama with that same gloomy aesthetic. I even used that hut from the movie in my collage :)

I’ve had this little Singed figure (about 20 cm tall) for a while now. I didn’t paint it myself, but I still think it’s worth sharing.
