Well, imagine you have to organise a party and you are asked to make a toaster. (Because you’re so good why buy one?) You do a fine job and it toasts perfectly, everyone is happy.

Suddenly, the host figures that it would be super nice to not only have starters but a main course as well and you are asked to do a fondue machine.

Unfortunately you’re busy doing some other mundane things like fixing the fridge or getting the toast bread (that some other person forgot to buy), and a friend inherits the task.

Said friend figures that there is a heating component in your toaster that they can reuse to make a fondue machine and heck, we could have a combo! That’s how we end up with a whacky hybrid toaster-fondue machine. It’s versatile, does the job, but now both the toasts and the fondue are boringly average and smell kinda funny.

Oh well you’re out of time and guests are coming, you’ll make it better for the next party.

That’s when the host remembers that they want dessert. A brave soul comes forward, grabs your toaster-fondue thingie and goes in a dark room to make an attempt at creating the ultimate machine....

And what should have happened happens: the machine explodes, there is cheese everywhere, everyone is left screaming and covered in smelly burnt bread crumbs.
