With friends like these...
Another rough doodle of more of buckybuns' and my Chaos OCs; Hermes and Death. Anatomy, what???Â
Finally started being able to define Hermes' voice a few days ago, after around... seven years, so that's nice. 8DÂ
That would help. Honestly I can't think of a single religion that doesn't still have followers, so you really need to be careful. And don't tag it with that religion. People who follow it and look in the tags don't want to see it
Yeah, iâm not sure what a good tag term for such things would be, though, because it should be obvious enough that someone would think to use it, while indirect enough that it wouldnât have the posts pop up in searches for the religion. If you have any suggestions, theyâd be much appreciated.Â
i suppose that the concept didnât even really occur to me until now because i grew up with fictionalised versions of religious figures everywhere â classical lit is full of it, and modern fantasy often is too; heck, even Disney â so it just seemed completely normal to me and i didnât even consider that someone might find it offensive. Of course, having something be common or socially accepted doesnât necessarily mean itâs right, so iâll try to be more careful. Still, if itâs something that youâre sensitive to then iâd suggest blocking my blog to be safe.Â
Messy sketch from last night of Maeâs Mayhem, back in the day.Â
4 out of 5 satyrs call her âCreepy but hotâ.
OH MY GOODNESS /WEEPS
this is perfect, sheâs perfect: mayhemâs bright round eyes, controlled grin, gosh AND ALL THAT BLOOD! <3Â 5/5 satyrs will be maimed tonight.
i need to do more art of her, and all the Chaos peeps. It's sad how little i've done so far, even though we've been kicking around the concepts since 2008 or so?? Cries. So many years and i JUST felt a few days ago like i'm finally starting to get Herm's voice. OTLÂ
Idk if it's just me but I get really uncomfortable when religious figures are put into games or fanart or something. Not like, the games lore religious figures, but important icons from actual religions. Even if it's not a popular religion today, it makes me really uncomfortable. Is that normal? Is it ok?
Religion is an incredibly personal thing, and it's definitely ok for you to be uncomfortable with it! Everyone has their own levels of comfort for different subjects. It may be worth thinking further about why exactly it makes you uneasy, just to understand your own psyche better on the matter. Personally, i'm usually fine with it as long as it isn't disrespectful towards religious figures that are still being actively worshipped today. If it helps, i'll add a tag of some kind on those posts so you can choose to filter them out.Â

Sort of a study, since i actually used a reference photo for once! Also trying out a slightly different way of rendering Libby's hair.Â
This is probably the most accurate picture of them so far, features wise.
Write Real People            click and drag game
ONE RULE:Â DONâT CLICK AND DRAG UNTIL YOU FIND SOMETHING YOU LIKE!
if you want me to add anything just write me. iâll add that and update the post!
I love all the click and drag games on Tumblr and after I read an article about diversity in YA books, I wanted to make a click and drag âgameâ myself. (i think this was the article, but iâm not sure, sorry)
sortabentglasses this is really freakin cool
this is so cool!
Made myself doodle something so i didn't completely waste the weekend. Not sure if i'll end up finishing this or not (probably not). A fake tarot card for Libertas, inspired by all the pretty DA:I cards.Â

At long last, the hip tutorial appears!
Poor neglected hips, such an awesome part of the body but so difficult to do *right*. It really just takes a few plotted landmarks and theyâll draw themselves, promise.Â

Iâm doing a social experiment called âagreeing with boys when they compliment youâ.Â
the results:Â
perf example of how uncomfortable boys are with women owning their own awesomeness. for many men, beauty, coolness, desirability are gifts they alone can bestow upon women. they get baffled, even aggressive when you show youâve known you possess those things all along.Â
Something i rushed out last night for an official contest on Gaia. The objective was to give a punk makeover to one of the NPCs. It's only running until the 12th, so had to get it done this weekend if i was going to do it at all.Â
i tried to reference back to his canon costume with the design: the colour scheme's the same, and the patterns in his hair and the designs on his coat are based on the design of his armour.Â
on showing pictures of a black professor and a white serial killer Timothy McVeigh to the kids
"Theyâre too young to understand!"
This is the fault of their parents and any other sick fucks around them. Â The sad thing is that the ânice manâ would kill them in a heartbeat.Â
This is about more than parenting and âsick fucks.â This is about an environment that constantly reinforces anti-blackness. Every time you turn on the news, a black person is committing a crime. Black guys are the bad guys in movies and on tv. Itâs nearly impossible to find positive representation of black people in childrenâs books and shows unless youâre actively looking for them, which white parents obviously donât. Our entire society has been conditioning these children to believe that black is bad and white is good. You can even see the black kid internalizing this message, in real time. Racism is an insidious disease that plagues us all.
The traditional term for homosexuality in China is âthe passion of the cut sleeve boysâ (ćč˘äšç), so named from the story of Emperor Ai of Han (27 BCE - 1 BCE) and Dong Xian (23 BCE - 1 BCE). As the story goes, Emperor Ai fell in love with a minor official named Dong Xian. Dong Xian quickly gained the Emperorâs favor. One afternoon as they slept in bed, Emperor Ai woke up. Rather than wake his lover, he cut the sleeves of his robe to let his lover sleep longer. Homosexuality was regarded as a normal affair up until the late Qing dynasty when the government attempted to westernize the country.

You assign them traditional gender roles
iâm not fucking kidding you make the âbottomâ very submissive and innocent and usually give them âfeminineâ traits and activities. Vice versa for the âtopsâ
you boo and hiss at the idea of a lesbian couple or one with a trans person
you get off on the idea of two white cis men making the penises kiss with little to no relationship build up. Just fucking admit that youâre fetishizing the same way that straight men jerking it to lesbian porn are.
you ignore canonically gay characters (AND ASEXUALS OH MY GOD)
SO. MANY. GAY. STEREOTYPES. âGay virgin twink sherlockâ comes to mind.
you only support gays because of your ship
you only care about bisexuality to make a
canonically straight character have gay sex
you demonize female characters because they donât fit in with your fetish
treating gays like a fun little accessory or quirk
Why your gay ship doesn't automatically make you free from internalized homophobia
