âLoose endsâ Is gonna be a REDDIE webcomic inspired on IT by Stephen King.
Summary: Semi AU. Itâs been four years since the kids faced IT down the sewers. Theyâre all in high school living normal lives being as good friends as ever; then Richie hears his old self warning him about something important.
Old Richieâs grieve and regret is so inmense that this other, seventeen-year-old Richie somehow listens and feels the pain of his other self. And knows he has to do something different this time, to not end up like this alternate Richie.
Iâm mostly inspired by the book and some things from the old and new film. From the new film Iâm using the date setting and the appearance from the characters which are more âpopularâ.
Why is REDDIE one of my favorite ships right now? Well, Iâm 34 years old and Iâm an old time fan of IT, and by that time, it was a huge taboo to ship gay couples. âAnd apparently still is for some peopleâ.
Thereâs NO question what Stephen King intended with these characters. Since the whole theme about the novel, as redundant as it may be, itâs fear. And the way this great author managed to tell so much about homophobia and self-loathing is just brilliant. And itâs also kind of funny that these so-called IT fans didnât actually catch it. I get it from -some- the teens that just got to know this story, but if youâre more than 20 you should know a bit more better.
And no, Iâm not okay about sexualizing kids. Iâm giving for granted that we all know what the word means.
I also heard about this drama with the actors⊠You can think whaterever you like, just leave the kids alone.
And finally, if you donât like REDDIE. I donât care. If you enjoy this, youâre welcome, if you donât, then go look something else you do enjoy and let others be. Thatâs it.
