MY TF2 AU REF SHEETS FOR ARTFIGHT 2026!!

Totally forgot to post these here for a few days but I can’t believe I actually managed to take this from a loose concept to nine finished designs in just over a week 😮‍💨

I’m brainstorming more ideas to develop the AU outside of artfight as well (mayhaps I’ll open up character asks or something if I’m not incredibly burned out after AF)

Anyway uuuuh fun lore facts!!

-They’re all clones of the original 9 mercs that happened as a result of a respawn malfunction 100 years after the original Gravel Wars. All of Teufort and the surrounding area has been reduced to a post-apocalyptic wasteland and as far as they know they’re the only 9 people left on Earth. Their job is to try and find any signs of civilisation.

-Almost all of them have very little memory of their lives before respawn, their dynamic as a group has to begin again from scratch.

-A lot of the story revolves around an Australium-adjacent element (which I have yet to name or really think about) which is represented through the vibrant teal colour visible in all of the Mercs’ designs. It’s especially dominant in my Medic Oc’s design since his main goal is to study its strange properties which seem to be able to mutate dna, creating strange mutant creatures.
