Hey, Listen!

She goes to school perfect body, perfect hair.

She's the prettiest girl in town and hasn't got a care.

All the boys are under her spell.

The girls are all envious, but they'd never tell,

they all want to be her.

Yet things aren't always as they seem.

  People don't see the internal scars.

They don't feel the racing cars.

The lights of the city, spinning around,

as she falls further and further down.

People don't know the feeling of pain,

of seeing outside sun, but feeling inside rain.

When they look they all see the mask,

not the girl who's sinking fast.

  Thy just march on, her leading the parade,

as they dawn their costumes, for their masquerade.

She dreams of a prince, handsome and tall,

to catch her from her terrible fall,

but all she sees are boys wanting more

as the rain falls in a steady downpour.

The torrent increases as the mask starts to crack,

as she's continually stabbed in the back.

  She knows there's no savior,

who will come and save her.

That fairy tales aren't real.

She can no longer feel.

In her light, so many bask.
