i learned to do this trick in sai where i can create comic panels of any size with easy :’) and i thought i’d share it with you guys
hope this helps and if any of you have any question about this then feel free to drop an ask in my inbox~
Some Photoshop Tips
I’ve been getting quite a few asks about the process for the patterns in my stylized artworks, so I decided to put together a couple of tips regarding them.
Firstly, what you need are
— CUSTOM BRUSHES —
Most of the patterns I use are custom brushes I made, such as those:
For the longest time I was convinced making brushes must be super extra complicated. I was super extra wrong. All you need to start is a transparent canvas (2500px x 2500px max):
This will be your brush tip. When you’re satisfied how it looks, click Ctrl+A to select the whole canvas and go to ‘define brush preset’ under the edit menu
You will be asked to name your new glorious creation. Choose something that describes it well, so you can easily find it between all the ‘asfsfgdgd’ brushes you’ve created to be only used once
This is it. Look at it, you have just created a photoshop brush. First time i did I felt like I was cheated my whole life. IT’S SO EASY WHY HASN’T ANYONE TOLD ME
Time to edit the Good Boi to be more random, so it can be used as a Cool Fancy Pattern. Go into brush settings and change whatever you’d like. Here’s a list of what I do for patterns:
- under Shape Dynamics, I increase Size Jitter and Angle jitter by 5%-15%
- under Brush Tip Shape, I increase spacing by a shitload. Sometimes it’s like 150%, the point is to get the initial brush tip we painted to be visible.
- If I want it to look random and noisy, I enable the Dual Brush option, which acts like another brush was put on top of the one we’ve created. You can adjust all of the Dual Brush options (Size, Spacing, Scatter, Count) as you wish to get a very nice random brush to smear on your backgrounds
The result is as above. You can follow the same steps to create whatever brush you need: evenly spaced dots that look like you painted them by hand, geometric pattern to fill the background, a line of perfectly drawn XDs and so on.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE
— PATHS —
But what if you want to get lots of circles made of tiny dots? Or you need rows of triangles for your cool background? Photoshop can do all of that for you, thanks to the magic of paths.
Typically, paths window can be found right next to Layers:
Draw whatever path you want, the Shape Tool has quite a bit of options. Remember, paths are completely different from brush strokes and they won’t show up in the navigator. To move a path around, click A to enable path selection tool. You can use Ctrl+T to transform it, and if you move a path while pressing Alt it will be duplicated.
Now, pick a brush you wish really was in place of that path you’ve drawn and go to layers, then choose the layer you want it to be drawn on. Then, click this tiny circle under the Paths window:
Then witness the magic of photoshop doing the drawing for you while you wonder how tf have you managed to forget about this option for the past 2 years
You can combine special brushes and paths for all sorts of cool effects. I mostly use them in backgrounds for my cards, but you can do whatever you want with them.
I hope that answers the questions for all of the people who were sending me inquires about the patterns. If you have any questions regarding this or any other Photoshop matter feel free to message me, I’m always up for complaining about how great and terrible Photoshop is C’:
I got a lot of asks about this so I made a tutorial on how I was able to emulate the 80s aesthetic, please keep in mind I’m not an expert and what I put here is just what I personally did. I hope you guys like it and hope it helps
go crazy kids
You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope.

My very first try to draw an old person. Thanks god I can use some reference because if I had to draw all these wrinkles out of my imagination o_O hell no. I will fail big time. Anyway! This is a preview of the work so far!
DO NO STEAL OR REPOST MY ART! Neaht
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Note: I finally finished my last drawing for 2017! It took me some time since I also started a webtoon recently! I am somewhat content with it. The character on the mask holds the meaning of 'polluted'/'unpure'/'violated' and so on. I don't know why that was my last artwork for 2017. But well, I hope you will like it! DO NOT REPOST OR STEAL MY WORK! - neaht
Note:I started it today, kinda proud of the color scheme I picked. Hopefully I won't f.ck it up - v - - Neaht
You saved me.
Note: Fanart of Todoroki Shouto. To be honest..I fucked up big time but before I could even give up on it, I decided to finish it up and post it. Reference used: LINK DO NOT REPOST OR STEAL MY ART! - neaht Software: Phosothop CC 2015 Tools: Wacom Tablet
轟焦凍
Who is ready for Todoroki Shouto’s fanart? I have been wanting to draw him for a long time but I find the hair so difficult to draw, like, I have to pretty much be careful how white and how red it is else it will affect the painting’s palette. ‘ v ‘
Stay tuned!

“Lost opportunities, lost possibilities, feelings we can never get back. That's part of what it means to be alive. But inside our heads - at least that's where I imagine it - there's a little room where we store those memories. A room like the stacks in this library. And to understand the workings of our own heart we have to keep on making new reference cards. We have to dust things off every once in awhile, let in fresh air, change the water in the flower vases. In other words, you'll live forever in your own private library.” - Haruki Murakami
Note: I am not really content with it. I lost my patience this time with all these flowers so I kinda f.cked up there. The blurring became too much and all. But still gonna post it because lost two days with that one. - v - Software: Photoshop CC 2016; Tools: Wacom Tablet Do not repost or steal my art! - Neaht
Forgotten Deeds
Note:Gosh, it was so hard to draw rust...I am not sure I will attempt that again. It's really interesting but tricky to draw. Do not repost or steal my art! - Neaht Software: Photoshop CC 2016; Tools: Wacom Tablet
Working on Rusty Metal.
I noticed, from my last work, that I have a hard time with metal. Hence will be working on something interesting. Stay tuned!
If I fly too close to the sun, please don't shoot me down. Note: That was a hard one! I so dislike some stuff in it but well, not bad at all! Do not repost or steal my art! - Neaht Software: Photoshop CC 2016; Tools: Wacon Tablet
People chase ideas and people love ideas. That's why an idea is dangerous.
Note:Hey! It's been two days since I started that piece. I am so bad at drawing women, so decided to work on that. Initially the art was different but I got annoyed and cut it and redrew some stuff. Duh. Do not repost or steal my art! - Neaht Software: Photoshop CC 2016; Tools: Wacom Tablet

My bones craved for the stars.
Note:And I am done with this fanart. The mask wrecked my brain, really! I used Rain Bi's body as a reference. You can actually see the pose I used, link. I am still struggling with my digital signature. So you might see different variations. Do not repost or steal my art! - Neaht Software: Photoshop CC 2016; Tools: Wacom Tablet
Note: What to say...I am really bad at drawing fruits/veggies and flowers. I drew one of my favorite fruits. Funny thing but it was such when I was a kid, lately I am not much into it. Do not repost or steal my art! Software: Photoshop CC 2016; Tools: Wacom Tablet
