nonbinary love women

hi being non-binary doesn’t erase your lesbian identity and being a lesbian doesn’t erase your non-binary identity & talking about one part of you will not invalidate the other

how hard is it to understand that a nonbinary person can align w a binary gender because of common experiences, presentation, preference etc while still not actually being that binary gender. nonbinary people can describe themselves as gay or lesbian or mlm or wlw and still be nonbinary.

*raises hand* It’s actually kind of hard for me to understand because I thought nonbinary meant not aligning with a gender.  Can anyone elaborate?

nonbinary just means not being 100% a man or a woman. some nb people are partially men or women but not fully, and thats why theyre nonbinary (demigirl/demiboy come to mind, for instance) also some nonbinary ppl feel connected to manhood or womanhood for any number of reasons, such as attraction to that gender, transition, or how they present and are treated. for example, im agender, but because of my love of men, my common experiences with men, and my transition, i feel comfortable calling myself a mlm/gay man.
