While for extremely personal reasons I don't wish to get into until A Student Out of Time readdresses Kanade, I have little love for serial killers, out of all of them, the one I find the most tolerable is Korekiyo Shiniguji and its for a couple of reasons.

Firstly I really like his design, its easily one of the best of the Killing Harmony Cast. I also liked his original personality as someone who seems to be fascinated by the beauty of humanity and throughout the game would offer very insightful details and knowledge. If Spike Chunsoft didn't decide to make him an incest serial killer, then he could have easily been one of my favourites.

The second reason is as disgusting as the whole See-sister twist is, the only small comfort is because its largely implied a lot of the personalities in Killing Harmony are fabricated for Team Danganronpa, there is a good chance the real Korekiyo was never a serial killer, something that A Student Out Of Time seems to believe in. And even with the incest you could in theory blame Korekiyo's sister more then anything as it was clearly a unhealthy relationship and she was very emotionally abusive to her brother.

As such Korekiyo is probably the least bad of all the serial killers which is ironic since he's the one with the highest kill count. Genocider Syo is not only a very damaging stereotype for people with DID, but I don't like the fact that a serial killer is used for comic relief as its quite insensitive. I do understand why she never killed in Trigger Happy Havoc, and she does go through character development in Ultra Despair Girls, but the point is, she is still a killer. Yes she's been "tamed" and her murderous lust is directed towards objects that deserved to be smashed but outside of a literal end of the world scenario there was no way forward for this character.

Imagine for a second you are Adrian surname The Eridian. Your spouse has been missing and presumed dead for around a decade, and suddenly one day an alien spaceship comes into orbit. And you cheer "Yay alien species have realized we have the same problem and have come to either give us a solution or join or efforts, too bad my mate is still gone."

Except he is not actually gone, because the eridian equivalent of a carebear decided to save them. And he doesn't want anything in return, in fact he is well aware that he might die A PAINFUL SLOW DEATH, shortly after fighting just to get the love of your life back to you. But it's ok :) because Rocky (yes he gave them a silly name) is my best friend! Oh- Are you ok-
