That’s funny... us 90s kids were wishing to be teens in the 80s. Set the scenario in 1982 and change the band to The Misfits (doesn’t matter what song they play) and that sums it all up.

How to CHAGA

Step 1: Find some chaga mushroom.

Step 2: Place mushroom chunk (aka conk) into small pot and add water. I use 64oz/8cups for a 20g conk (around 2.5″ squared). Does not need to be exact.

Step 3: Bring water to full steady boil for about a minute on high, then cut to low-medium and let simmer for about half an hour.

Step 4: Filter or strain into cups. Conk can be used over and over until breaking apart or water no longer darkens.

Step 5: Drink. Refrigerate leftovers (last about 2 days).

If you have chaga powder, use a heaping tablespoon with water. Powder can still be reused, but obviously more care needed filtering.

Chaga has a ‘mild earthy’ flavour, not resembling a mushroom. Cream and sugar/sweetener can be added but may reduce full effectiveness.

There are many methods to make chaga tea, this is what I find most effective for my body and what’s on hand. Some people use dedicated kettles, others brew it overnight in a crockpot. The above it just a basic guideline some may find useful as a starting point.
