THRILLING ACTION IN NATURE

The god of Chaos is probably mortal by standards. He’s been on the planet for thousands of years but the only way for him to survive was to pass his half soul on to a new living body. 

Through posession, as birth is unlikely until he meets Lily.

Witches are definitely ranked based on their parent deit(ies)

Witches with major deities as parents are the highest, and will look down on the lower ranked witches.

This habit is not missed even by the likes of Lily, whose only experience with other witches would have been the twins of Death.

Under the domain of Death, she cries for the loss of her beloved... Something... Everything... But, she doesn’t quite remember what that is.

People start getting sick, dying, the earth itself looks like it’s sick, dying, or dead.

Plains become baron, trees lose their leaves and begin rottings, animals are found dying, dead, or severely decomposed already.

The population dwindles fast.

Even the deities are affected.

First, it starts with the nature deities. They get severely sick, or they outright die. 

Other deities connected to the earth and nature also become effect: Gaia, Bristlecone, Mazu. They become sick, or they leave as fast as they can to avoid also becomming sick.

Witches are no longer trusted among the people. Known witches are hunted, even if they are descendants with no powers.

The actual god of chaos still retain some basic powers of the god, like shapeshifting and immortality.

He spent many years plotting and trying to come up with ways to gain power, however, most of them were dead-ends.

One day he meets Lily, the daughter of the God of Life and Goddess of Nature, Bristlecone, and Vide. He came up with the plan to feign being in love and tried to pursue her.

Of course, being the aro-ace she was Lily just turned him down and cursed him constantly.

Eventually, however, she does make up her mind and decide she’d at least have his child. The god of chaos disappeared after this, though Lily is unsure why.

The reason though is that his soul was given up to the child. However, his soul without his true power is considered a non-soul.

This, to Athanas, came across as a child who will either die in birth or be still-born. Lily’s body, with her connection to the god of life, was providing the lifeless husk the ability to grow to term.

Upon hearing the news that her child would be dead upon arrival, the entire forest began to mourn.

Upon the birth of the child, Vide gave up the final piece of her self. Vide ceased to exist after, the forest connected to her losing all its magical property. Lily names the child after her mother, Vide.

Lily leaves the forest with her father, and he with a new name and form began to travel. Athanas occasionally accompanies them.

Athanas begins to have nightmares of a bleak future where a dark goddess is trying to rule the world. As the years go by, he begins to realize the young Vide looks a lot like this woman.

Vide, in her adulthood, betrays her family and reveals herself as Nirrti, a goddess of chaos. Born from the soul of the former chaos god, and Vide.

Nirrti’s life ends when Lily absorbs her half of Vide’s soul and transcends to become Nienna, goddess of sorrow. Rain follows in the wake.

Mythologically, she is the goddess of winter in ancient Scottish, Irish, and Manx peoples, Cailleach Bheur is often depicted as a blue-faced hag who is reborn every October 31. Cailleach Bheur brings the snow until the Goddess Brigit deposes her.

Taranis, god of thunder, lightning, violent storms, tornados, hurricanes, and other natural disasters associated with rain and wind.

In Celtic mythology, Taranis was the god of thunder worshipped primarily in Gaul, Gallaecia, the British Isles, but also in the Rhineland and Danube regions, amongst others. Taranis, along with Esus and Toutatis as part of a sacred triad, was mentioned by the Roman poet Lucan in his epic poem Pharsalia as a Celtic deity to whom human sacrificial offerings were made. Taranis was associated, as was the cyclops Brontes ("thunder") in Greek mythology, with the wheel.
