They can fill you with so much negativity that you may start to feel bad about overall environment and circumstances. So, the point here is to stop listening all negatives and work on the facts. Try to gather data about the things which were working earlier. Can they be improved? if not what are the alternates and work on those alternates till the situation improves.

2. Don’t hang with negative people around you.

If someone around you is only sharing his or her misery then I can assure you that it will not take much of time then you’ll also start sharing your stories of misery either with them or with others. You need to protect your thought process from the negative people around you. Be aware of those around.

3. Focus on your strengths and not the weaknesses

You need to focus one what you have than what you don’t have in this situation. By Focusing on strengths will make them stronger in a tough situation, You will be able to enjoy the game played by a current situation.

4. Watch your own language

Listen to your words. Are you sharing your misery with others? If yes, Stop doing this now. This is not going to help you in anyways, it will just enforce the negative words into you mind which will make you weaker while you’re trying to win this situation. In fact, you must inform all concerned about the situation with facts and plan of action in coming out of this situation. This will help others to positively contribute to your efforts of dealing a tough situation. Especially to your family members, employees, and colleagues.

5. Help others who need your help

Look around you, you’ll find people who are in a desperate condition in their own lives. There are people who are not in a condition to turn around their condition on their own. They need help. If you can help them then this will bring two things in your life. First is the satisfaction of being able to help someone who actually need help and second positive aspect of helping someone is that you will understand that you’re in a much better condition than many others around you. This sense of positive will bring gratitude and strength to deal with the current situation in a constructing and positive ways.

Overthinking is a disease

It’s day 2 of reading the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. This post is an effort to reinforce the idea of “I am not my mind” into my own thought process and for someone who is following and reading these posts where I am sharing my learning.

I will quote some lines from the book itself:

“Thinking has become a disease. Disease happens when things get out of balance. For example, there is nothing wrong with cells dividing and multiplying in the body, but when this process continues in disregard of the total organism, cells proliferate and we have a disease.”

Note: The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive. To put it more accurately, it is not so much that you use your mind wrongly – you usually don’t use it all. It uses you. This is a disease. you believe that you are your mind. This is the delusion. The instrument has taken you over.”

I agree with the writer here that this is happening with almost all of us. We have left our mind in a free flow and what it does with that freedom? It creates so many negative images and pictures before us from the past and future. This does for the benefit of us so that we can save us in a tough and negative situation. But the problem with this free flow thinking is that it overdraws the energies from our being and we are left with fear, anxiety, and worry. Which is obviously not true and not at all a present reality, but yet we suffer from it. Yes, that is the most annoying part of this disease, we suffer a lot with something which may never happen to us.

We need to stop this suffer from this disease of overthinking now.

I am not my mind

I am not sure why but I got this intuition yesterday that I should read the book “The Power of NOW” by Eckhart Tolle. Yes, It’s true that I was suffering from some issues at the emotional level for which I was asking a cure. I believe that intuition to read this book was a perfect response by the universe to help me in overcoming these issues.

I believe the first few pages itself have helped me a lot in relieving my emotional disturbance with which I was going through in last few days.

One profound understanding is”I am not my mind”. A mind is a tool which comes free with the body when we arrive on this planet earth. However, the emotions and our pure consciousness of our being are eternal and part of the divine. This divine true self always feels pain or experience pain with emotional disturbances when our mind tries to use its own function of keeping us safe on this earth.

The mind is designed to work on all earthly matters and always seeks information from the past or try to expect future to understand any threats to our present life and ask our body to secrete some chemicals in response to those threats. When this game of mind happens too frequently. It becomes a cause of concern for us. The important thing here is to understand that mind is just trying to help us on this planet by saving ourselves from bad experiences and threats of anticipated (Which in many cases are the just imagination of nothing). This mind game was precious for mankind as it helped mankind to save itself from the jungle rule where the powerful was the king. But in this modern age, where we have come far from the jungle rule and have created others forms of threats and many of them are the just pure imagination of a bad experience with our own minds. You’re rightly thinking that this is not good for us, but we at this point in the history of mankind are still learning to change or thinking behaviors to this new era and have not completely forgotten the old mind patterns.

So, what is there for us when I say “I am not my mind”.

This phrase is very important. We need to remind us constantly that we are not our mind at all instead, we are part of the divine which is suffering due to imaginations of our mind. We need to instruct our mind when it’s not helping us by doing wrong conclusions with some past experiences about the future. This simple instruction has helped me a lot to keep myself at a distance from my mind and at the same time taking help of this amazing life tool called mind when I actually need its support in taking some vital decisions of my life.

Can You Make Yourself Happy?

Have you asked this question to yourself?

Honestly, I have never asked this question in a real sense. I have never forced myself to find the real sense of this question. I may have asked this question in the time of sadness or maybe when I was feeling low on a certain day, But never forced myself to do the things which are necessary to make me happy and joyful.

Many would ask, why am I need to keep myself in a happy and joyful state?

That’s a great question.

All of us have arrived in this world with some inherent qualities and happiness is one of them. However, after few years when we align ourselves with the culture around us (Mostly from our parents), we forget the basis of being happy and joyful. Our parents always seem to be hustling within this competitive world to make us alive and fulfill basic necessities of our life. They don’t care whether they are happy or not and we as children see our parents in this emotional state right from the start of our understanding about this world and culture.

We follow the same and do the same and in many cases achieve the same level of happiness and emotional state as our parents. This situation can change though with consciousness about our own happiness in our daily lives.

Being happy and a joyful emotional state brings more joy and circumstances to become more happy and joyful. This happens because of our happy frequencies. We align ourselves with other happy frequencies and get more of these situations. This is the reason all law of attraction experts suggests that happiness and being grateful brings more happiness.

How to be happy? Need some tips?

Top 3 Things: (As per my experience)

Make a list of things (Minimum 10 things) which makes you more happy and joyful. e.g. Meditation, playing, singing and do more of these things on a daily basis without fail. I would suggest starting doing meditation along with other joyful activities.

Start your day with sincere thanks to almighty for giving us what we have achieved till now. E.g. your ability to see the world through your own eyes is one of the greatest gifts if you just compare with someone who has lost their eyes.

Put a conscious effort to make others happy. This is the most powerful way to make yourself happy. If you’re making someone happy, you first need to be in a happy state yourself.
