I've seen people rag on the new Final Fantasy Origins game for its aesthetic and honestly? The problem isn't that it's modern. It's that it's basic and drab as hell.

Final Fantasy VIII is "modern". The party members are undeniably meant to look like 90's teens. But think about the quirky design choices (like Selphie's hair) or the COLORS. You can do a modern FF that keeps the fantasy and doesn't look like... discount Hot Topic.

This may be controversial, but I'm really happy about the mobile games? I've been limited all my life to Gameboy and DS games only and have never had the consoles/gaming pc to play anything else. So I'm actually really happy about getting access to all these classic Final Fantasies!

See, for as much as I had been dreading the day this would end, I just couldn't make myself be too emotional? There were no teary eyes, no tightness in my chest, no sense of finality. Because it's not final. The Mighty Nein all have many more adventures in store, they will still be in each others' lives, and we all know we will see them again.

The first PMV I will watch that covers Campaign 2 from beginning to end, HOWEVER-

Forgive me, I have one more too-long post to write.

Campaign 2 of Critical Role is what got me into Dungeons and Dragons. For me, this will always be THE quintessential D&D campaign, and The Mighty Nein will always be THE quintessential D&D party. I can't express how much this all means to me for that alone.

This has been one of the few works of *any* fiction where I've been following it from the very start. Week after week, for three years. And the M9 saw me through some SHIT. When life came at me hard and fast in ways I hadn't known yet, this show and the lovely community on Tumblr were a constant aspect of my week, my month, my year. I don't consume media this faithfully and I generally don't get involved in a fandom. This has been the exception for both, and I'm so glad it was.

So thank you Mighty Nein, Cast and Crew of Critical Role, and Critters. It's been a wild ride. See you all in Campaign 3, I can't wait to do this again!
