At least I get to use Horse-us over here to show How to build a good base for greyscale rendering, because colors can be intimidating, and doing It in Black and White First does help.

Pick contrasting grays for each element and material, The diferent values WILL Help The composition later. Your Shadows and highlights can Also Never been fully Black or fully White, It throws balance off. ALSO, Keep in Mind that Every color has a temperature, like Purple greyscale Will look darker than yellow and stuff, does that make Sense? No? WELL I DON CARE.

Also this game is Diagonal Imperial Conquest, where The most Powerful pieces sit on each corner and The point is to stop them from meeting at The middle, none two important pieces are the same, and The Drake piece IS THE BEST Because It can Never be removed from The board.

I tried to scrounge up some notes regarding why i made certain decisions, a lot of it is self indulgent because i like the faint effeminate look,

Edit: i'd also like to say thar the notch on the eyebrow is like, very very intentional asymmetry, almost an attempt to curb the perfection but it just adds to it.

I would realy hate if i were to completely flanderize him! So, for fun, redrew my favorite drawing of him

I think the softened features serve well to juxtapose the snarl

As for the cherub curls these werent my original idea, but i completly fell in love with them
