circa 2014 i took my first Philosophy class in college. (after it, it tried to take one every semester). I'll call my professor Dr Z, because i don't remember how to spell his name... Dr Z, in our first class he grabbed an orange & he said "LOOK AT THIS ORANGE!" &the lesson began.... How often do you THINK of what you're doing? LITERALLY Do-you-pay-ATTENTION-to-what-you-do? Do-you-pay-attention-to-your-life? For example: THIS orange! do you look at it? smell it? stare at it from the outside? think about each time you are peeling off the skin? how each peeling has a different form? do you pay close attention to the pulp? its membranes? the color of it! once you start taking a bite... do you FEEL the flavor? sweet, sour? how's the texture? how many seeds does it have? ...... etc etc etc the list goes on and on. do you take every moment of your life like this? do you THINK about your actions? do you reflect about it? do you take the time to breathe in and out? think about the air coming in through your nose, passing through your nose, nasopharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, terminal bronchioles, filling up your lungs, and going back out, all in less than 4 seconds!! Life is so unpredictable, so fascinating, full of beautiful moments that we don't even see because we are entangled in our busy schedules. It is hard to enjoy EVERYTHING in this life but, we can at least try.
