Oh, to be a reindeer frolicking in the snow
Character: Noelle
Game: Deltarune
I find it interesting that, regardless of whether Tenna is in Castle Town or not, and thus regardless of which of the Mike cutscenes played, the trio will have the same dialogue once the player can interact with them afterwards. Small Mike will still claim that calling Pluey "Pluey" isn't something Tenna would want, even if they just had a conversation where Tenna actively defended the name and asked to see Pluey specifically. This is consistent with Small Mike initially ignoring Tenna's request to see Pluey in the cutscene itself, and a lot of attention clearly went into the Mike room, so this is intentional.
Small Mike claims to be doing what Tenna wants, but he doesn't actually know/recognize what Tenna wants; he has an idea of Tenna in his head and is imposing this idea onto others (including Tenna), while not actually listening to Tenna. It really fits with the way he has been infantilizing Tenna before (he thinks this grown man is genuinely fooled by the costumes, like a kid might be by a guy dressed as Santa, and theorized that Mike might be an imaginary friend) and acting as a sort of overbearing caregiver; he does care and does feel attached (which is part of why he gets upset if Tenna is gone), but he often ignores or doesn't notice Tenna's actual wishes, while being convinced he knows best.
He insistently sticks to his idea of how everything is supposed to be (and pressures the other two to stick to it), and he also generally invests heavily into the role of Mike, to the point of tiring himself out and needing to call the other two for backup (who are far more relaxed and not so fixated on being Mike the "right" way), so when Tenna still isn't happy, or asks to see Pluey instead... that frustrates him heavily, and he feels like he (or his work) is being disrespected and treated like trash.
In the cutscene, Tenna requests to see Pluey, Battat yells at him that the name is wrong, Tenna disagrees and once again insists to see Pluey... and then Small Mike shows up. Battat actively gave himself more work when he could've just let Pluey do it, and then got mad at Tenna for not being happy about it (despite agreeing to go along with it, if he has to). From his perspective, he has given so much, so how dare Tenna be so ungrateful. Again, a thing that happens with overbearing caregivers that ignore the wishes of the person they're caring for; they do all that unasked for work of their own volition (pretending to be Mike was Battat's own idea, as was choosing to be Mike in this scene despite Tenna asking for Pluey), and then get upset when it doesn't have the result they wanted (like if they don't get praised for it).
Battat/Small Mike has always failed at understanding Tenna, and I think part of it may stem from him being a little too absorbed in the role of Mike, who is supposed to already know a lot, but it was also just him not making the effort to pay attention, in part probably because he assumed that Tenna's issues were just behavioral and didn't realize there was something deeper and more serious going on (trauma and grief) that needs to be addressed. Some of what he does works alright, but given Tenna's reaction to seeing him, he's clearly not happy in this dynamic overall. (Neither side is happy here.)
I think Battat/Small Mike has fallen victim to sunk cost fallacy, which is part of why he kept playing the role despite all his frustration (quitting would mean it was all a big waste of time), and also why he not only doesn't notice Tenna's real wishes, but also outright ignores them when they contradict his idea of what Tenna is supposed to want. It's why he insists that Tenna wouldn't want Pluey to be called Pluey even after seeing Tenna defend Pluey's right to use the name. To accept that Tenna actually doesn't mind Pluey, let alone that Pluey is the favorite, is to accept that he has been wrong, and all the effort and time he put into his version of Mike was for nothing.
And that's without him realizing that the reason Tenna spends time with the trio isn't because any of them are a good substitute for Mike, but rather because he's lonely and takes whatever company he can get, even if it's just a game of pretend. And of the three, Pluey is the most helpful - not because he's the most Mike, but because he's Pluey, a guy in a cat fursuit who acts like a cat (and probably doesn't condescend to or infantilize Tenna, at least not to his face, and doesn't try to impose anything on him like Small Mike does). That would probably be a whole other level of frustration for Battat. Like, the costumes were just straight up unnecessary?! Tenna knew the whole time?! Then why did I even bother!!
