enamored by the singular corn kernel that fell down the grate in the back room of my work where we wash all the sequipment (seed equipment) and immediately started growing on a little pile of sand that fell down there too and now it’s like 6 inches tall poking one of its leaves through the slats

ah to be a singular corn plant growing in a damp laboratory floor drain....

two updates:

1. I checked on it this morning and it grew at LEAST 2 centimeters overnight. like it’s having a great time in there

2. i have recruited the dude who works emptying trays back there and my boss and placed an enormous traffic rod right next to it with signs warning others of its presence, so it stays unharmed for now. i think it just might make it through the little slats (stem still seems small enough)
