Zodyl is very calculative; if he were to give you any form of affection, the most likely scenario would be if it were your form of reward from him to secure your loyalty with him and the raiders, as seen with Bundus. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

The hug would be cold, emotionally lacking any warmth, but considering his height, if the reader were shorter than 6 ft, it would feel kind of heavy? Like he's towering over you, kind of like asserting dominance through the hug, it's not even purposeful. Zodyl naturally carries the aura of a leader, so the hug would feel authoritative. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He wouldn't say anything after; the most you'd get is a huff. He'd be the one to create the distance after, probably counting the seconds in his head before holding your shoulders to firmly push you off. His face would be entirely blank; it'd be kind of off-putting, but at least you got what you wanted.

Going off of when jabber is underwhelmed, which is in contexts where he isn't engaging in acts of violence, the hug would most likely be in a similar context; you'd have to be familiar with jabber in terms of allyship for him to hug you. If you were sad, he wouldn't know what to do and would probably feel uncomfortable seeing you like that because it'd put him in a situation he'd never be in on a normal day. He'd make fun of you at first ❝ Aww...are ya cryin' ? ❝ ⸻ jababy (─ ‿ ─) before realising you weren't budging and actually needed comfort ❝ aw...you really are crying..❝ ⸻ jababy "( – ⌓ – ) ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

The hug would be surprisingly chill depending on how you interpret someone slumping their entire body's weight onto you. He'd be too lazy to hold his body up on his own, so the hug would depend on you to support it. Considering how jabber can be a bit of a brat, he'd definitely sigh dramatically over your shoulder as if you're genuinely burdening him with this...

Cthoni tends to remain stoic, showing far less emotion than the other raiders, meaning she would only hug you in private, away from everyone else, because she would never display such a strong gesture of affection if anyone like Zodyl was watching. Though don't take this the wrong way, she would still be detached. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

It’s over before you know it, blink and miss it, as soon as her arms were around you, they’d retracted, not even allowing the warmth of her skin to meet your own. Her hug is stiff and rigid and, honestly, feels more like a business transaction. Her words aren’t monotone, but they fall flat, just a forced and stoic ❝ it’s fine ❝ ⸻ thoni (- -ᣟ݂ ݄ paired with other short and mumbled phrases, and that’s if she speaks at all. Her face is blank throughout it all, and it’s difficult to gauge if she actually even cares, just be glad she came through... ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Though she shows her concern in other ways if you pay close enough attention. Her gaze is on you more often, and she observes and monitors you more than she did before the ordeal. She sticks around you. After all, she can’t have any unresolved turmoil interfering with Zodyl’s mission.

⠀─── ꒰ MOMOA RUKEL ✦

Momoa is fairly quiet, and she isn't the most expressive person you'll ever meet, but don't mistake it for shyness. She's not very fond of touch either; she likes to keep her personal space. Though that doesn't mean comfort is out of the realm of possibility. She just prefers to keep it minimal and less focused on the physical aspects. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

She might be the type to put a hand on your shoulder for a moment, but your head is more likely, just to look into your head and save her the trouble of figuring it out herself. Still, when the time for a hug does come, it's rather straightforward.

⠀─── ꒰ BUNDUS BEGALKEIT ✦

Bundus is an honest man, and he isn't exactly prone to masking his opinions or motives. And the same can be said of his hugs: you'll know if he's trying to comfort you, as it's not something he's going to hide. He’ll laugh, offer to take a seat and listen to your woes, maybe offer some advice like an uncle or something. He’s a man with years of experience under his belt and his fair share of rough times; he isn’t one to dismiss feelings. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He's polite about the whole thing and easygoing. He’d give you a warm, tight squeeze, letting you linger for a second in his arms. If you’re younger or a child, afterwards he’ll let you rest on his shoulder as he sits beside you, filling the silence with his own tales or asking you questions to ease your mind, whichever he thinks would work best for you.

Noerde holds herself and those she cares about to a very high standard, but once you’ve earned her favor, she’s not above comforting you. She might not say much or smile; in fact, she might take your distress as a sign of weakness and tell you off. Despite her reprimands, she’ll take you into her arms easily. Her grasp is steady and firm, and she lets you stay there until you pull away yourself. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Depending on where you are, she might sit you down and comb a brush through your hair to calm you down, either with a spare brush or with her fingers. While she does that, though, she would tell you that you need to be stronger; her weird way of reassurance would come off as a sort of tough love, making the moment a bit less about comfort and more about you finding your resilience. After all, she grew up in a clan of warriors; she didn't have time to entertain sob stuff or engage in pity.

Fu isn't particularly good at giving or even receiving hugs, not for lack of trying; he's just awkward when it does happen. He's not sure where to rest his arms or how tightly to hold you without explicit instructions. But if you were close to him and you were sad, it would only make things worse because he'd immediately start tearing up too, but out of sheer panic. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

But it comes from a genuine place, so he does his best to make you comfortable. Even if he ends up with his arms hovering at your sides while his hands barely make contact with your back, he would try his best to make sure you're not crying cause it puts him in a weird situation he's unused to ❝ dont make that face please... ❝ ⸻ fufu (´._.`) ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He wants to make sure you're okay, despite his quivering lip and clearly nervous expression, he can usually work up the courage (or be ordered) to go and comfort you. He doesn't know the right words or phrases, so it can come off as uneasy and a bit awkward but he's doing his best

Hii wasn't dumb, he knew something was off about you the first time he witnessed you fight just as recklessly as he did, completely unafraid of the consequences that might come. You fought relentlessly in every fight you went into, barely flinching at anything that came at you, even if they were potentially hazardous or, in the worst cases, extremely deadly. It didn't matter if it was the terrain or your opponent; it was clear you ignored the threat of danger in any scenario. At least you weren't a coward like that pathetic boy he'd made a pact with.

Still, despite his suspicions, the reasons fueling your impetuous practices ultimately remained a mystery to him. Besides one inkling, that is, the small hourglass presently attached to the loop of your belt. Of course, he'd figured out it was a jinki a while ago, back when Fu had first joined the side of the Cleaners on trial. Though he had no clue what it did or how it worked, and it seemed no one else did either. So he left it. Why would he bother investigating any further? Learning the answer wouldn't benefit him, and not knowing was hardly an annoyance; it didn't bother him or Fu.

At least he thought it didn't, I mean, he's sure it didn't at first. Apparently, something had changed between you both when he'd first encountered you compared to now. You were just such an odd case. All Hii was to everyone else was Fu's cursed doll, nothing more. He never cared; he knew he was real enough when he got his chances to shine, fighting and doing the things his other half couldn't. It was the only time he could speak and freely move around, so of course, when he was back in the doll, nobody acknowledged him.

Except for you. It was strange, the way you greeted him and told him hello, sometimes even before you did Fu. Constantly, it was ❝ Hey Fu ❞ followed by ❝... and Hii ❞. He didn't answer; the only one capable of hearing him was Fu, so he never bothered. You continued doing it anyway. You especially liked talking to him when he did have control over their body. Questions, questions, and even more questions. Occasional compliments on his fighting. That's when Hii decided you were annoying. Really annoying. Even so, he decided to let you stick around. Only because you were nice to Fu.

He tolerated fighting beside you, your pestering, and all your small habits. Everything. And today was no different, same old type of mission, get rid of the trash beasts. He was used to it by now. He could tear these pests up without thinking twice. You were here too, with a few others, but Hii had seen you handle yourself perfectly well plenty of times in the past. Like he said, today wasn't going to be anything different. Just get the job done and leave.

It was going well. He'd taken out a fair amount of the smaller trash beats, ripping them apart and shredding through them with brute force. The supporters and cleaners were doing their share, but you were out of his line of sight, surely throwing yourself directly at the problem. He was busy feeling the rush of adrenaline fighting typically gave him, indulging in it while it lasted. Hii trusted you could manage by yourself. Until someone screamed your name, tone panicked and desperate.

His head turned by a margin, just to check, but in that moment, he swore everything slowed as he saw it. The noise of the world was drowned out by the sight in front of him. The permanent grin usually plastered on his face fell completely, your eyes were blown wide as blood seeped out your mouth. Time seemed to have stilled in that moment, everybody's eyes glued to your speared body. Then it was over; the horn had been ripped out just as quickly as it had gone through your chest. He moved without thinking, his body reacting faster than his mind could catch up. His hands were ripping into the waste-made flesh, muck staining his palms as it was torn apart piece by piece. The anima-powered creature, now reduced to debris and ash, blew away after meeting its fate in the hands of Hii, who only stopped after hearing the distressed sounds you were making. Your body had collapsed onto the ground, bleeding out, unable to move in horrible, staggering pain.

Your arms were shaking, fidgeting with the loop of your belt for something. Unaware of how you were able to move, but knowing whatever you did made the hourglass on your waist light up. He didn't care about that; he was too distracted to focus, watching you lie there, moving slower by the second. He cautiously scooped you up. Your pulse was barely audible, your heartbeat faint. Too faint to even feel or hear at all. He stood there with you in his arms like that for a minute to two, staring at your limp form with incomprehensible thoughts he couldn't seem to straighten out, all jumbled in his mind that had simultaneously come to a halt and somehow thinking two million things at once.

There was no way you were dead, but the stillness of your body, followed by the blood loss caused by the gushing wound seeping into your uniform, told him everything he needed to know. You were dead.

You were dead.

...

For maybe 5 minutes at most.

Hii couldn't do anything but blankly stare at your wide, lifeless eyes. He had remained staring down at you as grief washed over him, until you'd abruptly gasped, writhing around for air as your lungs expanded. You sat up in a sudden motion, nearly hitting him in the face. He yelled and cussed and nearly dropped you. Which was fair, considering he was entirely and irrevocably sure humans weren't supposed to come back from the dead, but the hole he knew he saw gaping in the middle of your chest had magically closed? And you were seemingly fine compared to the lifeless body he had just been holding a few minutes ago. Your eyes met his, and a spew of words fell from your mouth ❝ ...Hii, this is really nice...but we should probably find me a doctor asap...Before I actually do end up dead ❞, you choked out the remaining blood in your mouth, smiling stifly before you suddenly raised your hand up and pulled his head down towards your face before pecking him on the cheek. His whole body stiffened before he slowly pulled away, followed by your whispered ❝ Okay? ❞

Perhaps the more jarring idea to him was the fact that your death had upset him at all, let alone overwhelmed him. But this was a close second.

All he said after was ❝ ya owe me an explanation later; a big one.... ❞ accompanied by a hesitant mumble ❝... and don't let that happen again ❞

Hii learnt a lot about you that day. That apparently being immortal came in lots of different shapes and sizes, including jinkis, and that you just so happened to have lived a thousand different lives through yours, retaining your memories from nearly all of them. Including the last breaths you took during them. You'd been so many different people.

Yet, somehow you'd begun to cherish this life in particular, the desire to live a fulfilling life with no regrets pouring into that little hourglass you kept ( something you'd only started keeping to keep up with how long you'd liked this life. It occupied you ), so that when you reset it, it reset your body too. The wounds would fade back in eventually, but if you reached a doctor in enough time, you could be right as rain again in no time.

Unfortunately, he learnt something else too. As stupid and agonizing as it may be, he didn't want to lose you. He'd like to be a part of this version of you, this life you're living right now, just a little bit longer.

... You two would definitely be talking about that kiss later, however.

Oh, Tamsy, where do we even start with you? To the cleaners, and to you, Tamsy is known as calm and level-headed; kind of the 'nice guy' of HQ. He has a naturally charming demeanour that's carried by the softness of his voice, making him easily likable to anybody and to you. Although he isn't too close to anyone, he's still gotta uphold a certain reputation, even if that means going beyond what he cares for, and that includes the emotional well-being of his peers. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Seeing you cry would put Tamsy in an uncomfortable position; he would never hug you on a normal day, but he seemed to have stumbled on you at an unfortunate time. He would've ignored you, but he had to look like he cared, right? So he did what any normal person would do and decided to take it upon himself to comfort you. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Tamsy didn't pull you into his arms, he simply opened them, expecting you to fall into him and when you did, he held you in the emptiest embrace you'd ever feel in your life, soft to the touch, but completely void of any meaning as though he weren't even holding onto a person, he'd softly tell you ❝ don't worry i'm here .. ❝ ⸻ (￣、￣) tammy but his exprssion would be stagnant, internally praying this would be the last time he'd have to hold you so gently.

Delmon's strength and towering stature make the thought of hugging anyone a tad intimidating. And although he could be loud at times, Delmon was still a caring man at heart. Just like with his precious flowers, he'd make sure to be as delicate when it comes to hugging you and take a great deal of caution to not hurt you. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Nonetheless, even Delmon's kindness could be overbearing; shouting what are meant to be sentimental words in a fit of emotion is just one example, so seeing you vulnerable would make him yell in concern ❝ NOBODY HURTS MY FELLOW COMRADES !! ❝ ⸻ del ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ. His hugs still might temporarily knock the wind out of you when his passion gets the best of him, and he can't contain himself. The upside is, irrespective of your height or size, Delmon is big enough for his arms to encircle you wholly, making the hug feel warmer. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He's pretty open to hugs so long as he regards you as trustworthy, and especially so if you're a member of the Cleaners! Though he's not often the recipient himself due to his size, he'll try his hardest to provide comfort to you. Even if that attempt at comfort ends up being too much, it's a genuine effort on his part.

Tomme is always shown to be very compassionate when interacting with others; she has a natural maternal warmth to her that's been acknowledged by amo when caring for her. Her highly perceptive ability to notice the smallest things that would go unnoticed by literally anyone else makes it easy for her to pick up on anyone's emotional state, even the tiniest, most involuntary, fleeting expression of sadness from you, she'd notice immediately & try doing what she could to fix it.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Her hugs feel a lot softer than the other two supporters, but mindful enough to give you space to move if you weren't comfortable with such affection. She'd smell nice too, so it'd be more comforting, a few back rubs to accompany her soft reassurances as she rocked the hug side to side.

Similar to Tomme, Gris has a naturally paternal aura, as seen with Rudo & Follo. He cares deeply for his fellow cleaners, and he isn't afraid to express that through physical intimacy as well. If he sees you in a moment of weakness, he'd do as much as he could to be there for you, asking you if you were alright and needed any company, before sitting nearby and listening to you vent your worries intently. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

The hug wouldn't come abruptly; it would be a buildup to the moment, and Gris being the strongest supporter means the hug would feel quite firm, not restraining but not loose, almost the perfect amount of affection is poured into the moment, making it feel warm & safe. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Afterwards, he'd reassure you and let you know that you could confide in him anytime. ❝ I'll always be around if you need someone to lend an ear ❝ ⸻ grissy (‾◡◝)

Follo is known to be very friendly and easy-going, but beyond the surface level, diligent Follo is a very tender-hearted and passionate boy with a lot of emotional depth. Making him more susceptible to being empathetic towards your feelings,he may even relate to some of you, and this may even lead to him feeling sad too, depending on the context, that is. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Follo's hugs aren't exactly common unless it's a light-hearted over-the-shoulder type of hug, but in moments where he does properly hug you, they start off really tightly, not unbearable, just his emotions getting the best of him in that moment, before softening it, but the firmness is still present in how his hands clench into your clothes. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Rudo's hugs crush you; when he does hug someone, he means it, but receiving hugs more often than he's given them has left him unsure of how much pressure or strength he thinks is meant to be applied in a hug, so he resorts to using all his strength when hugging people, to try and convey how strongly he feels. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He has a tendency to crash right into you as well. He goes in headfirst and tries not to overthink the action. He'll hold your shoulders for a brief moment before pulling you into nothing less than a short, suffocating hold. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He doesn't say anything, and if he does, it's minimal. He'd rather show he cares by how sincere his hug is, just embracing and holding you for a while, being enough. He might prefer it to end naturally, so that if you exchange words afterwards, it won't be awkward.

Zanka isn't the type to hug anyone often; that's why when he does offer hugs, he gives them out very sparingly, and in situations where he does hug you, it'd be because he thinks you genuinely need it. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

The hug is soft at first, stiff but soft, but as soon as your bodies make contact, he takes a deep breath, almost cautious, because physical affection is something very unfamiliar to him. Instead of intertwining arms with you, his arms wrap around your body. It's kinda awkward as he's just holding you stiffly before breaking it up. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He'd probably end the hug saying something along the lines of ❝ don't make this somethin' ya get used to ❝ ⸻ (¬`‸´¬) zanzan

Riyos hugs wouldn't be intimate or warm if she weren't too familiar with you. We have this perception that Riyo doesn't necessarily want to let people get too close to her emotionally, and that would reflect in how she interacts with people intimately. Don't take this the wrong way, though; it isn't personal. She'd still be willing to hug you, but she's guarded about it, making them feel kind of distant, for lack of better words. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Her hugs would be lighthearted, depending on the context, she'd have her arms around your neck or hugging you from the side with one arm over your shoulder, making you slightly off balance. Depending on how close you are, the hug could be tight out of her excitement of seeing you, but there'd be a notable gap between your torso areas, keeping a slight distance despite being playful.

Enjin isn't big on full-body hugs, favoring seemingly impersonal or teasing shoulder hugs. He'll swing his arm over your shoulders and lean his weight onto you in a carefree manner pretty frequently, especially if he's closer to you and you're younger than him, as he does with Rudo. He's pretty laid-back in the affection he gives overall, even though it's never overly emotional with him.

If he were ever to hug you entirely, his grip on you isn't tight, but it's steady, and his hands remain planted near the upper back. Based on how close he's pulled you, he might tuck your head up against him, and there's a high chance you'll be able to smell the lingering scent of cigarette smoke on his clothes. Though the hug itself only lasts as long as he sees fit. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

He'd either save his advice or words until the end, say them before the embrace, or a mixture of both, though he twists anything he wants to say into something that can be interpreted as more lighthearted and unserious.

She would be extremely gentle with you, afraid of screwing up or hurting you. She'd gently hold your head in place against her shoulder and even rest her head against yours.
